Paul McCartney Performed This Beloved No. 1 Beatles Hit at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Wedding Reception (Exclusive)
people.comDid Taylor actually "pushed for an Oscar" for ikiiky?
I've been seeing a lot of comments and discussions in other subs about how "Taylor really really wants an Oscar and is pushing for it hard"
And to me it seems like another narrative the internet makes up about her than get mad at her for it. She even refused to do the song initially, it doesn't sound an Oscar bait, and she never mentioned aiming for an Oscar. Im sure she wouldn't mind a nomination but at no point I've seen evidance to that being her main motivation. Its just a fun song from a franchise she loves regarding a character she loves so there is not many downsides to creating the song regardless of awards.
People say she is doing an Oscar campaign but what im seeing is just regular promo for a big movie, why wouldn't she do that? I've seen countless artists being part of the promo when they wrote a song the movie (Charli xcx to wuthering heights is the last example)
The other sub saying she is a "hypocrite" after "wish list" and that's so laughable to me. The song mearly states her current fantasy. Thats like getting angry at Mariah for wanting something else other than her partner for Christmas. And at what point did Taylor say she wants an Oscar more than a family?
The internet is simply obsessed with creating narratives and image to her for their own fake outrage. Thats how I see it at least - do you think im missing something?
