Can side effects from an ocular migraine last for weeks?
I am a 31 year old male. I recently went to the optometrist today for an ongoing problem with my eyesight. Normally my eyesight is quite good, but a few weeks ago I noticed one day that my eyesight was considerably blurrier in one eye than the other. this persisted for days until it got worse one day when the vision in one of my eyes got really blurry and I couldn't hardly see out of it. there was no pain but I decided to go to the hospital out of concern. they did a quick check and said that there was nothing physically wrong with me so they sent me home and told me to go to an optometrist. I waited patiently till I could see one, and while my vision did improve from what it was, it was notably still blurry. Today I finally managed to go to an optometrist, who looked at my eyes more closely and determined that aside from some very small cataracts (which he said should not be causing me problems) there was nothing wrong with my eyes. He told me he thinks it was an Ocular Migraine that caused the episode and told me to follow up in about a year. However my blurry vision still persists and hasn't been improving. I think he implied that perhaps my vision might come back to me but after some research online it doesn't seem like an ocular migraine should be effecting my vision for this long. Perhaps there was some miscommunication on my part when explaining my issue to the doctor, but I decided to ask here to see if anyone more familiar with this sort of thing can give me some insight as to whether or not my ongoing vision issues should have been getting better by now since I'm at a loss of what to do if my vision doesn't improve on its own.
