cursor plan choice

I have an older Cursor account with the 500-request-based plan.

Currently, I use Opus 4.6 non-thinking for pretty much everything until I hit my quota around the 25th of the month. After that, I switch to whatever models are available to me in the slow pool. It used to be Sonnet 4.5 Thinking, but now it looks like Gemini 3.6/3.7 Flash is also available.

I'm considering whether it's worth changing my setup. I'm currently deciding between paying $20 for Claude Code or $20 for Cursor.

My current workflow is mainly using Claude Code with Sonnet 5 as both a planner and builder, and then switching to Cursor when I hit my Claude Code limits.

However, I'm starting to notice the limitations of Opus 4.6. It's still a great model, but I'm wondering whether my old 500-request Cursor plan is still the better option, especially if I pair it with a Claude or Codex subscription (I'm probably moving to Codex).

So what I'm mainly trying to figure out is:

Would I be better off keeping my old 500-request Cursor plan and pairing it with a Claude/Codex subscription, or switching to a newer Cursor plan with access to the newer models?

I'm particularly interested in which setup would give me the best overall coding experience and the most useful model access for the money.

my portfolio

thought to repost my portfolio here since my post in algerian facebook dev groups my post was not allowed in

https://kermout-ayoub.dev/

its a retro os style website, made using qwik, qwik-design-system, tailwind
as you can guess it works better on desktop, haven't decided yet if i should remake the mobile part to be an android clone instead

everything you see in the website is interactive (except battery icon) and has os like elements
window snapping works, window management works, updates, task bar window management, shortcuts (use SHIFT+?),
each aspect of the portfolio is a os "application"
the terminal is interactive according to the supported commands, i invite you guys to try it especially to remove french fries command :)
you can shut down the website, restart it, there's an achievement system in place, there's eastereggs everywhere, there's an interactive cat as well who you can pet (click once) and make it follow you around (click twice)
try to double click the clock widget as well
there's a settings menu with customization to the look and design
and an even more retro look there too
there's a working start menu
oh and dark + light mode too!

no special library was used to achieve this, it's almost all javascript event handlers, qwik did help alot with having them be available directly on the components and pages as props instead of needing to register and remove them myself

any idea where i can find a decent premium feel intel core ultra 7 258v laptop?

as title says, i need a decent intel core ultra 7 258v or 268v laptop
my criteria is battery life and especially good screen, keyboard, build quality and maybe decent speakers but this one is the least important
i've looked into a couple models like zenbook s14, thinkpad x9, this two are the most fitting
found a x9 but the usage on it with the battery percentage degradation was sketchy
, no s14, found a single s16 ryzen edition but from what i found from reviews, it gets very hot
im open to other suggestions, my budget is 25million for now but its flexible
if you guys know any store i can find a decent model like this i would appreciate it

thank you

model choice for testing out opencode

im coming from cursor, i still have the old subscription model of 500 requests per month and i use opus 4,6 high non thinking with it and each request to it counts as 1 request
right now im trying opencode go + gentle-ai to see how good it is
here's my config above
my first impressions is its quite organized, i enjoy that, context doesn't seem to be fried in longer sessions
its not doing so well with exploring docs that arent markdown format i noticed, its much better if i give it code examples and refrences
for output i didnt make anything as complexe to say how good it is, but so far its decent, i have to review code as much as i do with opus 4.6 non thinkin in cursor, it does the same bs of not respecting preffered syntax and coding style and especially they both lazy with respecting type safety
however it seems my models choice is on the expensive side it seems
i already ate half the monthly usage and all the weekly usage in two days and somehow kimi k2.7 coder ended up being the biggest eater
is there a better recommended model list to use instead of my current config?

is there a way to disable subagents?

i tried changing to the last version 3.3 but they are stil being triggered?
i dont want them because not only are they a waste of credits, but they also cause confusion for me as i dont want to track two agents at the same time, i need to see what they are doing
