Overdrive pedals with a clean blend?

Looking for suggestions on light to medium overdrive pedals with a clean blend knob for maximum tweakability

Have a germanium fuzz with a clean blend and I find it fantastic. Previously had a JHS Sweet Tea and one side, the moonshine, had a clean blend.

Any other suggestions? Could always run a pedal of my choice hrough an LS-2 I guess...

Your bands that are far too unappreciated today?

R.E.M. have one of the most stellar 1980s discographies of any band, topped by superstardom in first half of the 1990s, yet today... Nothing. You never hear of them or new fans or new generations discovering them.

Fender Engine Room - Noisy

I thought I'd upgraded my power supply from a cheap Lekato one but this thing is so loud. Had five pedals plugged in and still a problem. Whittled it down to just a Strymon Iridium with headphones, still so loud. Swapped to a 9V 650mA boss power supply for the Iridium and no issues

Did I just get a dud?? Bought it used on Reverb.

NPD : Boss PH-3

Wow this thing can do some crazy shit haha.

My only other point of reference with a phaser is the altogether more subtle (but more useable?) Mad Professor Tiny Orange Phaser.

This thing gets wild and I'm still experimenting.

Any fans?

Songs you think R.E.M. could cover well?

Odd question maybe, but listening to "Sister Golden Hair" by America earlier and immediately thought it's such a Mike Mills suited song and Peter's playing would work well.

Favourite "against type" performances?

I'd go with Robin Williams in One Hour Photo, or Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad or Jim Carrey in the Truman Show

Wow. First time playing through a pedal instead of an amp. Had previously played a UAFX Dream into a Katana, but this is far far better.

Playing a Gretsch Electromatic 5435, preferring the chime mode so far. Just pulled the Mythos Herculean Deluxe out to try it out with it, and very impressed, sounds better than I've had it through the Dream or direct with Katana.

Aren't Mad Professor pedals just beautiful

There's just something about this company that I love so much. All of their pedals that I've tried sound great!

I just saw "Aliens" for first time. I'm 40. Last week I watched "Alien" and "Predator" for first time.

Where do I go next?

Alien3?

I saw whatever Predator movie Adrien Brody was in before, didn't enjoy.

Do I watch something completely different? I've never seen Terminator, any of them.

Credit Report has False information

Got a credit report back today. Shocked to read I owed €16,000 on a bank of Ireland loan , saying last payment made in May 2023.

I trawled through bank statements showing I made my monthly repayments on time every month after that, June 23, July 23... Right up until I made a lump sum payment of €9,800 clearing the loan in December 2024.

How can this happen? How can a record of loan repayments suddenly stop in a random month?

This has upset me and I want to know how to fix it. I'll call the bank tomorrow but in the meantime has anyone experienced similar?

I can't use delay pedals

I have a DOD Rubberneck, a Boss DD-7 and an Empress Echosystem. I've previously had a Line 6 Echo Park and a Keeley Caverns, a Way Huge Aquapuss and a Fender Mirror Image.

The problem ain't the pedals, it's me.

Everyone I try use delay is just an unpleasant wall of noise that isn't musical because I'm a dumbass who doesn't understand timing or how to do it.

Can anybody suggest some songs to practice with, or videos or write ups to help me learn.

Everything I play is a sonic mush and I want to sound musical 😃

Alternative suggestions to this UAFX trio?

I've decided I'm not altogether happy with my trio of pedals above and reckon I'd prob get €750 for them in a sale, maybe more, so exploring alternatives that aim for the same/similar thing.

Woodrow - want to love it, I do. But.. I can't get into it. It seems this can do zero clean and I don't like that. I know a tweed amp breaks up and that's it's thing but low volumes with gentle pick and still too saggy and overdriven for me - any tweed alternatives to suggest? I have a Mad Professor Big Tweedy Drive which is fun but not the same. Was looking maybe at a Catalinbread 55 or an Origin Effects Deluxe 55?

Dream '65, I do like it, but. Just scouting for options. I don't love the whole UAFX app set up, just let me plug and play without needing my f$#@ing phone

Golden Reverberator... It's good. It is, it really is, but limited in options and some of it sounds slightly too digital to me, will prob keep but looking for high end comparable or better options.

How much is in your pension pot?

I'm reading a thread on the Irish personal finance subreddit and, well, I'm assuming this is the well-to-do portion of Ireland and not the average figures.

People there talking about a million or more in a pension pot by retirement and people in their 30s with mortgage paid off and putting 1500 a month to a pension.

What's the broader picture?

I'm 40. Over 100K in a pension. But I've mortgage debt that'll be there til retirement and I've 3 children so pension will limp on as it is now with minimal additions.

NPD - Pettyjohn Chime MkII

Time to say what I say every time I buy a new expensive overdrive pedal, ahem, clears throat, the search is over! This thing is great!! I'll never need another overdrive pedal!!

Real take; seems pretty good for low-med gain, unique being able to blend between germanium and led clipping, and the tilt EQ is a bit different in a good way to your average 'tone' dial, with high pass filter giving more tone sculpting options. Solid overdrive, very high build quality.

I've a board full of expensive crap and decided I needed to try a Timmy. Then I decided I can't spend that kinda money. Enter Caline Pure Sky. €20.70 delivered from AliExpress. Haha it's so much fun, sounds really really great as a light overdrive, right up my street.

Playing with a Gretsch Electromatic through a UAFX Dream 65

I am a "homeowner", or will be in 27 years when the mortgage is paid. My house is oil heated, built early 1990s. House is never warm. Windows are drafty, handles bockety, doors timber panel, boiler and rads seem undersized, attic is insulated but upstairs in winter is freezing.

House could do with new windows, external insulation, new doors. With cost of energy could really do with solar panels too.

But.

Even with grants it's an unobtainable expense to do the work. And I keep hearing all the time on telly and radio about we need to make our homes more efficient etc etc Yeah we do, but it's cost prohibitive for so many . I've young kids too so won't have the funds any time soon.

I'm aware also there are people looking at me and telling me to shut up, people who rent and can't afford to buy etc etc.
