Best way to get positive reviews
I have released a app in play store (8 month, 27k install) and leter on iOS (1 month, 876 install), in my case initial review came automatically without any much effort, I have initially keept all features free and some user got so impressed with the app that they review it by opening store themself.
After getting those type of positive reviews I got motivated and added a gated system review after 3rd open of the app, like asking them if they like the app , yes and no, No leads to feedback form and yes opens store page. Then I learned about the review gating system is against Store Policy (Apple and Google). Till now my app got an average ratings of 4.9 star.
Then I added stores dedicated in-app api for review, after initial 3 app open then successive 20, 40 etc. This ratings system then lead to a heigher number of 1 star. Those 1star were mainly from those users who didn't know how to use the app, so they left a negative review. It lead to average 4.4 star.
Then I added a Happy Path/moment review system, it triggers the same in-App review system but only when 5 different action were taken in app. After this update my started getting 4 and 5 star ratings, no more 1 star ratings. Currently it's average ratings 4.6 and increasing.
From all this I learn that the best way to add a review system ( in compliance with store policy) is to add in-app review api, but tigger it after a certain number of positive actions in the app (Happy Moment review). Review getting always leads to a higher positive reviews, but it's against policy.
Made a advanced detailed Study Planner app
I am a PhD student and know how it's tough to manage time for study and keep track of progress. So I made an app Exam Countdown and study planner. This app basically shows how many days left, with how much subject/chapter progress or study you have done. Also it has an inbuilt subject wise focus timer, focused time shows against each chapter, so you can know which chapter took how much time so you can plan your revisions better, with an inbuilt revision planner. This app also includes a Diya AI Study Planner, which automatically generates Insights, daily schedules, quizzes etc, and is still developing the AI functions. And it has many detailed analytics, I don't want to explain everything here. If anyone is interested they can check EXAM COUNTDOWN AND STUDY PLANNER on iOS, Android, Windows in any device.
I am not sure if this app will help you guys or not, so please let me know, if it's not helpful I will remove this post.
How a solo developer promote his app for free
I have made an app for Students for management of Study and exams. This app basically shows exam countdown and helps in tracking subject progress, so students always know where they stand and how many days left. It also includes many advanced features, which currently available most popular apps don't have. This isn't my claim Most users'reviews also confirm this, that app developed by me has an advanced level of study management which others don't. Most of the downloads are from organic search, it gets on average 170 to 230 installs per day.
For promoting this app, I tried ASO, SEO, also made a dedicated website only focusing on SEO, done localisation for app store descriptions, even some screenshots in local language, custome description for some developed countries. Some users emailed to support their native language so I did translate the app using Ai in their language. Now I can't think of other things that I can do to promote my app. Most of the Forum suggested promoting on reddit, but in redit most forums aren't allowed to self promote. So I am asking members of this community how I or any other solo developer can promote their app in reddit or any other platform it I haven't mentioned.

Google play console payment status pending after free trial period ends for UPI payments (India)
I have published an app, subscription payments were working well for all subscribers, including from india (UPi) payments. But after I have given free trials to users, when trial google paces the order but payments keeps pending (my case pending for 2days till now), till now not a single ( out of 12) payment have become successful. Other country payments got successful after trial end. Is this a issue or it takes time for UPI payments ?
Need help in optimising App Premium plan
I have an Education related Time management app Exam Countdown and study planner. Which currently has A premium plan for local premium unlock and Ai Pro for cloud sync and Ai features. I have priced the one time in app purchase as 1.99 USD (India Rs 99) and for subscription 0.99 usd/month (India Rs. 49). Pushed the subscription model yesterday till now got 7 subscribers all from India. Any suggestions about the pricing or how I can find the optimised price, also keeping in mind that it's for students.

Can't stop thinking about improving my app, leading to sleepless nights
I am a new developer and I have published 3 apps on Play Store, one app published in January till now (May) it got 4.82k installs and 2.8k active devices. And most of the reviews are positive and motivating. So I kept constantly developing based on feedback and my own ideas. But from From some days ( 7 to 10 days), my head hurts, I can't sleep at night. When ever try to sleep, ideas and thoughts about how to improve my app and what features to give what ads to use .etc etc comes to mind. Can't ignore them , can't stop thinking about them. Also I am a full time research Scholar, it has a separate work pressure. What should I do, I currently don't know how to improve this situation. As a developer in reddit mentioned like "just make tiny progress every day*. There is a ton to do, but there's no rush" , but I can't stop me from opening the laptop, like I need to add this, then that. I thought that ASO, Screenshots, Email, website, Ads and premium features will be stressful then there will be not much, but that's not true. I completed all of them still something comes up or at least I think I need to improve. Anyone sugest me how can I handle this situation.
I Was Tired of Last- Night Exam Preparation, So I Built This Study App
As a student (Research Scholar)/developer, I always struggled with last-minute exam stress, pressure and inconsistent study routines. I thought there were many days left for the exam, but one day I realised the exam is in the next day. So I built an app called Exam Countdown & Study Planner to help track exams, revision progress (supports multiple revision), daily goals, streaks, and focus sessions in one clean interface.
It’s simple, distraction-free, and designed for students easy to understand, who want better consistency while studying. Would love to know what study tools or features help you stay productive.

I love to get some feature requests and feedback from fellow students.
Built an Exam Countdown & Study Planner App for Students, I am happy with its performance.
Hey everyone! 👋
I have built an app Exam Countdown and study Planner and published it in Play Store.
The app helps students manage exam stress with:
• Exam countdown timers
• Study planning & revision tracking
• Daily goals and streaks
• Focus/Pomodoro sessions
• Clean and simple UI
It’s currently rated 4.8⭐, its motivating for me to see such positive reviews, and I’m continuously improving it based on user feedback. Building and maintaining an app as an indie developer has been a great learning experience so far.
Currently added premium features. Most purchases are coming from my own country India. I don't know why there was no premium from another country, did I have done anything wrong?
Would love to hear feedback from fellow developers on user retention, monetization, and how to improve visibility.
