Posting as a lurker is rough, how can I get past this?
I’ve been trying to post questions in a few subreddits that are relevant to what I’m looking for advice about, but I keep running into posting restrictions or Automod removals. I’m mostly a lurker and only really use Reddit when I have a question or need some advice, so being required to build up a certain amount of participation first is frustrating.
I understand why communities have rules to prevent spam and low-effort posts, but being expected to make a large number of comments or posts that I don’t genuinely have anything to contribute to, just to avoid having legitimate questions removed, feels counterproductive. At this point, I’m honestly considering giving up on trying to post altogether.
