What is your take on this video?

I didn't know how to embed a video (if someone knows and can tell me how I'd appreciate it) so here's a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcJDFRLEAGk

I wanted to know what ENTJs thought about this? My take is describes some of the behavior attributed to unhealthy ENTJs. Yes it's somewhat stereotypical as well.

(I didn't know which flair to use so I used the most fitting one. Can be changed if needed).

Would be open to reconnecting with someone after a few years (see situation below).

A question for the INTJs. I'm leaving some details out of the story but the general situation was I met an INTJ a couple years ago (4 or 5 years ago to be precise) and we clicked with each other very well. We only knew each other for about half a year but both of us had a general sense of "this person understands me in a way no one else does". A lot of people considered us clones of each other because he had so many things in common from trivial things liking the same music to similar experiences growing up and a similar mindset/view of the world. We were also very close during this time, we'd stay up into the late hours of the night just talking to each other non-stop ranging from the most non-serious topics to the most serious ones.

Anyways we unfortunately grew distant and stopped interacting with each other (mostly because we got busier and busier). I also didn't have a stable way of contacting her after this. Fast forward to now after a couple years I was going through some of my old accounts and came across one of her long lost accounts with some recent activity from a few months ago. I messaged there giving her my email and phone number (since this would be most stable form of communication for the both of us) and said I would like to reconnect if she's open to it.

My question is if you came across that message, considering its been a few years since the last interaction, and that potentially since the account isn't monitored as frequently there's a chance she sees the message say 3 years (~2029) from now. Would you considering reaching out? At the very least sending a short and simple message like "Hey, its me. I got your message. How's everything been?" Or would you simply let it be after that long of a time?

What's your MBTI and what would you classify your "style" as?

Just out of curiosity what would you classify your style in a general sense as? For example mine can be found below:

Hairstyle: It's difficult to describe but I'll try my best. The sides and back are tapered shorter than the top and combed down and to the back. The top is combed to the side and back with a little bit of fluff at the top.

Clothing: I usually wear a cotton full sleeved shirt or half sleeve shirt of basic colors (black, blue, green, white extra) - Usually Denver Hayes. Or a button shirt again of neutral colors. Paired with chinos of different colors or occasionally cargo pants (black, navy blue, etc). Black leather belt (casual - or a formal one if im wearing a suit).

Shoes: Typically I wear brown dress shoes (oxfords). If its winter I wear boots (snow) and switch shoes once I'm at destination. With a suit I wear black oxfords.

Accessories - Smartwatch (samsung galaxy series - they look a bit better since its circular) and the iron ring (its a ring worn by Canadian engineers on the pinky finger of their dominant hand). If im wearing a suit I wear a formal watch (black).

If I could I'd wear a suit everyday but I'm not in a career that requires it and it would look like I'm overdressing. Wondering everyone else's styles are and if there's any relation with to MBTI (I see mine as something somewhat fitting an ENTJ).

How many jobs did you apply to before you landed a full time role (Recent Grads) + plus some other questions

If you're a recent graduate from chemical engineering (within the last 3 - 5 years) I have a few questions.

  1. How many roles did you apply for before landing a full time position?

  2. How many interviews did you get?

  3. What year did you graduate?

  4. Which location/country did you graduate from and where the role currently based?

  5. Did you have any internship experience if so how much?

I'm primarily just looking to gauge what the job market is like in North America. Would appreciate any help or insight. Thanks y'all!

Foreign Chemical Engineering Demand - Australia

I'm a recent graduate from UofA in Canada and heard from some professors that Australia has a very high demand for engineers currently.

I tried to use google to get information on this but was unable to find much so I'm wondering about the following things:

  1. How in demand is chemical engineering in Australia? Are the job prospects there better than here in North America?

  2. How difficult is it to get work qualifications in the Australia? I assume you'd need a work visa of some sort which would require company sponsorship but is the demand there high enough to negate this? (To clarify I don't mean negate the need of a work visa, I mean are companies there willing to sponsor applicants more than say the EU or other countries would be?)

Note: I wasn't sure which flair to use. I can change it if needed.

Recent graduate - Looking for interview advice/tips (please see below)

I'm a recent graduate in chemical engineering from the University of Alberta with 1 year of coop experience and 4 months of research experience.

Unfortunately the job market here isn't too great, and even with connections I'm struggling to get even a single job offer. I'm able to get some interviews (1 - 2 interviews per 90 applications or so), but unable to turn them into job offers.

I'm usually able to answer interviews fairly well using the STAR method when applicable and have a lot of stories from uni and past experiences I can draw from.

My usual method of prepping for a job interview is to go online search for the types of questions typically asked for the company/role (if I can) then copy paste the job posting along with my experience into chatgpt and ask for sample questions.

I'm wondering if anyone here has any interview advice aside from use the STAR method, research the company, prepare beforehand etc. Perhaps my interview skills aren't as good as they should be.

Would appreciate any help y'all can provide I'm getting so stressed about the job search I might start balding in a couple weeks here.

Recent Graduate - Advice for job searching?

I just graduated with a bachelors chemical engineering at the university of Alberta (Canada). I've been applying to jobs fairly consistently here in Canada for any chemical/process EIT positions as well as any new grad/junior engineer positions.

I have sent in about 70 to 80 applications so far and only received a single interview. Wondering if anyone has any advice for me on getting interviews? I'm also wondering if there's Canadian grads here how long it took y'all to land a job.

I have 12 months of coop experience working in a process engineering team (unfortunately they did not hire me back as an EIT). I also tailor my res-ume for the role and make it in a ATS friendly format.

I'd appreciate any advice with regards to the job search! The constant rejection emails and ghosting is starting to take its toll on me.
