A similarity between Canada’s coach my kids coach made me weary and I have questions.

While watching the Canada v Morocco game today, I noticed the Canadian coach basically just standing there not really being involved in the game. On the one hand there was nothing he could do at that point but on the other hand you never know what can happen and I feel like a coach should never give up on his team.

I see the same behavior from my kids travel team coach. They had a total loss season and this guy just sits there often basically waiting for the clock to run out. The other coach is actively involved in the game and I don’t mean in a screaming way.

My kids team does not play well and it hasn’t improved. The coach left at the end of the season so there will be a different coach next season. Watching the World Cup game through, it seemed like Canada did not play well and then I saw the coaches demeanor and my mind instantly remembered the same from my kids coach.

Wondering if anyone else had seen similar behavior with similar results and what could be gleaned about the coach from this. I don’t mean that the coach is bad but is there something missing between the coach and the team that is resulting in poor play and if so what could it be?

Mustache bars vs flat bars vs top shelf flat bars

New to single speeds and road bikes in general. My bike came with a mustache bar which is fine but I’m thinking of changing to top shelf bar just because I like the look or possibly just a flat bar also because of the looks.

Are there any handling differences with flat bars vs mustache bars?

These can’t be 700x32c tires but they say they are.

My first single speed and first road bike Retrospec Harper.
I bought it because the description said it had 700x32c tires and these tires actually say that on them but they look like 28c.

What is going on here and more importantly what should I buy as replacement tubes and tires in the future? If anyone knows what the max size this frame can handle I would appreciate that info.

Club and coach don’t care — need advice

So I’m completely fumed and wanted to ask for advice and vent.

There are several things gone wrong here.

My son is now finishing the season on an EDP team. The coach is leaving at the end of the season but he has been checked out since fall.

He spent the first 2 weeks of the fall season on vacation then came back just in time for the first game and told the parents that he hasn’t had enough time with the team to have a result in the first game. They lost the first game but over all had a 60% win rate in the fall — not bad.

They went on to loose every game in the winter season and coach left for vacation again right after winter season ended and did not get back until about 2 weeks ago. About half way through the season.

The club never assigned them a substitute coach. They would show up to practice without any coach assigned and just join whichever team was practicing on the field.

They have lost every single game this season. Today’s game the coach could not be there, they assigned some coach that we have never seen before and he has not seen our team. Guy shows up 10 min before game start, there was no one to warm up the team and we lost.

Complaining to the club just gives you an answer of we have been doing this for 20 years and you don’t know what you’re talking about.

The team obviously has work to do as there are issues with the players that lead to the losses but this season no one is working on them.

It’s now too late for tryouts anywhere else but over all the group of kids are good and everyone is friends so we don’t want to leave. The club also significantly raised their prices for next year and I really feel like they failed the kids this year and especially this season.

Has anyone had similar experience, is this what it’s like sometimes— it’s pay to play and we don’t care what happens we just schedule games.

I’m hoping that the next coach is better but I’m not so certain there will be any improvement.

Need help with front collision avoidance system

Hoping to get some info and advise if possible. I’m wondering if I should risk paying $250 dealer service fee or not.

I have a lease for 2025 Hyndai Tuscon. From the very beginning the car would put the brake pedal down in slow moving traffic situations when there is no reason for emergency braking.

What would usually happen is I would start gently applying the brake to stop after pulling up to the car in front of me while moving less than 20 miles an hour and all of a sudden the car would just floor the brake pedal and stop abruptly, no reason or need for this. A few times it got close to being rear ended but luckily did not. The delayed settings does not make any difference.

Needless to say, I can’t drive the car like this so I turned front driver assist off. Especially after complaining to the dealer and getting “that’s how the car is” answer.

But after the last update or for some other reason the feature turned back on without my knowledge. Sure enough caught me by surprise in bumper to bumper traffic with 2 unnecessary hard stops in a row. I was surprised to see frontal collision warning turned back on.

Called hyndai customer service they do not diagnose or assist with anything vehicle issue related, they told me the dealer service center needs to assist with this. I called a different service center but they will charge $250 if they can’t replicate an issue.

My concern is A — is this how the system functions? And B— I don’t trust the dealer and if they choose to just dismiss the issue like the first service center did and collect $250 what path do I have to getting this resolved?
