New grad rn

I’m a new grad RN from Ontario and have been unable to find a job since passing my NCLEX. With the cuts to funding for new grad programs, it’s been really difficult to get my foot in the door.
I’ve recently heard back from recruiters at Vancouver Coastal Health and Interior Health, and I’m debating whether making the move to British Columbia is worth it.
If you’ve relocated to Vancouver or Kelowna, I’d love to hear about your experience. Do you feel the move was worth it?

New grad nurse

I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
I’m a new grad RN in Ontario and passed my NCLEX about three months ago, but I still haven’t been able to find a nursing position. I was told that the hospital I previously worked at is no longer running its new grad residency program because of the lack of new grad funding, which has made things even more difficult.
I’ve been looking into the Vancouver Coastal Health new grad program and have heard back from them. My hesitation is that it’s such a big move. For anyone who has relocated to Vancouver, was it worth it?
I’ve also heard that rent is very expensive. What is the average cost for a one-bedroom apartment, and is it manageable as a new grad nurse?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice you have.

New grad

I came across this RN New Grad Residency Program in the U.S. for Med-Surg and was wondering if anyone has experience with it or knows anything about the program.I’ve seen some mixed reviews online, and I’m curious why they’re offering such a high salary for new grads. Is there a catch, such as high patient ratios, poor working conditions or just staffing shortages

New grad

I really need some advice.
I’ve been applying for months to RN jobs and new grad positions in Ontario specially Toronto and surrounding areas , but I haven’t been able to secure anything. It’s becoming really discouraging.
I’m starting to wonder if I should explore opportunities outside of Canada. Has anyone else been in this situation? Did you eventually find a job here, or did you decide to work abroad?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, any advice, or suggestions on what I should do next.

Basement contacted

Looking for some advice regarding a family member’s basement renovation.
They hired a contractor to renovate their basement for approximately $55,000. So far, they have paid around $45,000, as the contractor repeatedly requested payments for materials, workers, the electrician, plumber, and other expenses. He also took photos of their credit card and card information when collecting payments.
The project was supposed to be completed by now fast forward it’s been almost 4 months , but less than half of the work has been finished. For the past three weeks, my family member has been trying to contact the contractor, but he keeps making excuses, avoiding calls, and giving promises that are never followed through on. He has repeatedly said that the plumber would be coming over the last two weeks, but no one has shown up.
At this point, what would be the best way to move forward? What steps should they take to protect themselves, and is there any realistic way to recover the money they’ve already paid? Has anyone dealt with a similar situation and had success resolving it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

New grad

any new grads have experienced moving to Vancouver for a new grad position? It’s been months of job hunting in Toronto and haven’t herd back from anywhere, I recently decided to apply to this Vancouver hospital. I was just wondering anyone can share experiences with cost of moving and rent. Is moving out of province a good idea or should I wait out this hiring freezer

After months of applying, I finally got an interview for Emerg at Southlake.I was told the interview will be in person and includes a simulation and nursing competency test.I was wondering if anyone has gone through the process before and could share what it was like or any advice/tips for preparing. I’m a new grad and have been looking for a job since last year, so I’m really hoping to do well
