What are some of the heaviest/most emotional quotes in SW?
Sorry, but I honestly think the absolute single heaviest and most underrated line and moment in all of SW...
Is when Vader says "It is....too late for me, son." And after Luke is gone and Vader is alone, when he walks over and puts both hands on the railing, it is as if you can somehow just see (in your minds eye) through the mask. Upon first glance, it looks like he simply walks over and places his hands on the railing, to then look outward on Endor.
Not at all. He literally placed both of his hands on that railing to steady himself, as if he was hit by the hardest blow he has ever experienced. It is as though you can picture both of his eyes closed in sadness, and instead of looking outward, he simply has his eyes closed and is looking down. It was spiritually and emotionally as hard for him to say that....as when he was burning in front of Obi-Wan.
Someone seriously needs to edit that scene and show him contemplating all of the terrible things he has done and those he cared about and lost. He might as well have said "I am already damned, my son." Anyway, I have always considered it one of the heaviest quotes ever, and the actual reason he grabbed the Emperor and gave his life.
Second place?
Like: No father, I have to save you.
Anakin: You already......have. You were right about me. Tell your sister, you were right....
And then the slow and tragic Vader theme that plays only a few notes. And ends with his life.
Let me hear what you guys think.
