What GPU would you recommend for my hardware?

Hi, my old RX 550 died and now I need a new GPU for my PC:
i5-14400F
16GB RAM
ASUS Prime B760M-K D4
I want something good for macOS compatibility, gaming and editing.
People previously recommended an RX 6800 XT or RX 6900 XT around €400–450, but they’re now out of stock and I can only buy the GPU at the end of this month.
At the moment I’m not sure if I should wait for one of those AMD cards to come back in stock or look for another option in the same price range.
What would you recommend?

Hi, I installed MacOS Monterey on my Optiplex 7010 (i7 3770, iGPU, 16GB RAM and Q77 mobo). After the installation i patched the gpu but after the restart it remains stuck on this:

It’s normal or there are problems with the efi or the system?

Hey everyone, I recently made a post asking if it was worth trying a Hackintosh on my old Optiplex 7010.

Specs: i7 3770 with Intel HD 4000 (no dedicated GPU).

I followed a guide to build my EFI and I’m trying to install macOS Sonoma. I also added CyptexFixup.kext since it’s required for Sonoma.

Problem: OpenCore boots and starts loading, but after a few seconds it suddenly reboots back to Windows. It’s not really a boot loop—I just don’t have enough time to see any error messages before it restarts, so I can’t tell what’s going wrong. The recovery never actually loads.

I know I’ll need OpenCore Legacy Patcher later for the HD 4000, but right now I can’t even reach the installer.

I’m also aware that I should probably try macOS Monterey since it’s the last officially supported version for my hardware. I actually managed to install Monterey in the past, but this time I wanted to push further and try a newer version like Sonoma.

Do you think this is an EFI/config issue? Or could it be a limitation with this hardware + Sonoma?

Should I redo the EFI from scratch?

Any help is appreciated

Hi everyone,

I have an iPhone 4s that is stuck in DFU mode and I’m unable to restore it no matter what I try.

I’ve already attempted several recovery methods, including different restore and update processes, and trying to reinstall the system.

The issue is always the same:
- The restore process starts but stops partway through (around 20%)
- On other attempts, the device shows the Apple logo with a loading bar, but it freezes and never completes
- After some time, it reboots and returns back to DFU mode

I’ve never modified or jailbroken this device. It’s just an old phone that stopped working normally.

Does anyone know what could be causing this or if there is still a way to recover it?

Thanks in advance

Hey everyone,

I recently found an old laptop I had lying around, and I was thinking of turning it into a dedicated macOS (Hackintosh) machine just for fun and experimentation.

Before I start, I wanted to ask if this setup is actually worth it or if it would be too unstable / limited for daily use.

Here are the specs:
HP 255 G8
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U
- GPU: Integrated AMD Vega iGPU
- RAM: 16 GB
- Storage: 256 GB SSD
- Ethernet: Yes
- WiFi: Realtek (I think it might be RTL8821CE, but I’m not 100% sure)

My main questions are:
- Is this hardware suitable for a stable Hackintosh setup?
- What macOS version would realistically be supported on this kind of build?
- Would WiFi/graphics be a big issue on this configuration?

I’m not expecting perfection, just something usable and fun to experiment with.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi everyone,

I have an iPhone 4s stuck in DFU mode and I can’t get it to restore no matter what I try.

I’ve already attempted several methods:
\- Restore using iTunes
\- Restore/update using 3uTools
\- Trying to reinstall only the operating system
\- Trying to enter recovery mode

The issue is that every attempt gets stuck:
\- With 3uTools, the process stops at around 20%
\- With iTunes, the Apple logo appears with the loading bar, but it freezes and never completes
\- After a while, it reboots and goes straight back into DFU mode

I’ve never jailbroken this device (it’s just an old broken phone I had lying around), so I don’t think that’s the cause. I originally thought a jailbreak method might help, but I haven’t tried anything like that.

Does anyone know what could be causing this or if there’s still any way to recover it?

Thanks in advance

Hi everyone,

I already made a Hackintosh on this PC before when I was using an RX 550, and it worked fine.

The problem is that I no longer have that GPU, so now I only have the Intel HD 4000 from my i7-3770.

Because of that, it feels like I’m basically starting the Hackintosh from scratch on a “new” setup, and I’m not sure which macOS version is still supported with this CPU and iGPU.

The PC is a Dell OptiPlex 7010 DT with 16GB RAM.

What is the highest stable macOS version I can install with this hardware?

Thanks!
