What do you think about Instagram?

Guys. First things first. don't cringe at me.

I am 18. I'm somebody who knew every guy back at school. literally. it was a crowded school. but still it would just take me days. I hate to say I was "popular'... Let's just say I was known to everyone. Life was easy.

But then came one point of time where I felt left alone. Everybody started drifting away from me... They became friend groups seperately. Everyone thought I had my own set of friends. But no.

I completed school two months ago. we had our farewell after boards. i was one of the student heads so I was organising everything. my phone would be constantly ringing.. I talked with all of them day and night. For a moment I thought haa nothing changed I've still got friends... but ever since the day farewell got over, it's been dead silent. Nobody looked to me back. All had plans with their friends.

I felt something lately. I am not on instagram. but people do their talking only on instagram these days. back in school, I thought I was kinda conscious that I should def not get to insta. because I don't want to feel validated from just existing in an app. I wanted to prove myself that I don't have to be on something to verify myself on par with my peers. At instances it felt cool to be honest. People were asking me to make an account.

Even on these days, i go to the ground every mornings. people over there asked my instagram id. When I said no I don't have, they get dissapointed and make a face.

It made me think. I am almost forgotten by everybody, I have tried texting people on my whatsapp and all and they say "you still exist?" type shi...

So what i am trying to say is.. Am I missing something? Do I have to be instagram for my social identity? Would it actually impact my career or networking or something? I am not trying to attention from people and all.. when I say "oh people have forgotten me aah" I think that's ok. that's adulthood I guess? But I am asking for me..

There are only two people I talk to... online. One my girlfriend. she too doesn't have instagram and she thinks oh instagram is bad and all lol. and another best friend of mine and she said to me insta is not my cup of tea.

I am going to enter college and that's what I am worried about lately. I have to make new friends.

"A friend of many, is a friend of none" is true. But would it affect me on other aspects?

I have linkedin. I'm on reddit. discord. and other 'social' apps. isn't that enough?

SEC vs SRM ktr: or anything better?

Guys... 12th, JEE all flop. VIT la yum I didn't get a seat... So now it's down to Saveetha Engineering College vs SRM (ktr).

I am super super confused with both of these since I get highly mixed reviews. Nobody is picking any side... Both are at same fee category (16-18L). Both are at equal distances from my home. I see positive reviews on youtube for both the colleges. And in here and other reviews people trash both of them.

I have planned to chose CSE. It's only BE In SEC and Btech in SRM (does that make any difference?)

please help me out... share your honest insights.
Does the SRM brand actually help? or I'd be suffocated with the crowd?
or the SEC would have a poor crowd quality? is it better there?

or in ultimatum? are they any honest better options?
