My Thoughts:

This book was a rollercoaster! My heart absolutely achedfor Kayla and her quiet, unwavering love. Nathan's back-and-forth between duty to his "fate" and his actual feelings was so frustrating, yet I couldn't stop reading to see his eventual downfall. Kayla's decision to leave was written with such raw emotion—it was painfully relatable. The groveling/redemption part in the second half was satisfying, though I kinda wished it lasted even longer (maybe I'm just greedy!). The pacing is tight, and the emotional conflict is intense. Perfect if you're in the mood for some angst, pining, and a slow journey toward healing. Fair warning: you'll need some patience because the MMC can be seriously clueless/jerky in the beginning.
