Looking for step dads will made prior to 2016

My Step father died in 2018. He had a will which named me as his beneficiary and executor. He was a resident in a long term care facility and had about $120k cash at the time of his death with no other property. This didn’t go through probate although perhaps it should have?? Who was responsible for notifying the probate court if anyone?
Present day, I found he has unclaimed property in Kansas, which is where he died. It would make things much easier if I had a copy of his will which I no longer have. Didn’t think I would need it this many years out. I’ve called the attorney who made the will. Her law office has closed, but she is looking to see if she still has the will somewhere She suggested I call the District Court. I called the District Court in the county where the will was created as well as the county where he died and both state they do not have it. Is there any other place I should be looking to try to find a copy of his will? Or do I just tell the unclaimed property division that there wasn’t a will since there isn’t now?

Uncle died naming my mom and two aunts as beneficiaries

My uncle died leaving a will and a small house He listed his three sisters as the beneficiaries. However, one of the sisters, my mom, died in 2016. My uncle’s will was never updated to reflect this. Everyone lives in Kansas; no one is disputing anything.
My aunt is being told by an attorney (I question amount of his relevant experience) that everything has to go through probate. My question is why? No disputes, there’s a will and apparently Kansas has laws about what happens in cases like this where a beneficiary has already died. The law seems to state my mom’s share of the inheritance would go to her children. So why does probate need involved as it takes months (not sure why) and costs more. Input appreciated

Damage to Hertz rental car in Italy. How long before I get a bill?

I rented a car at the airport in Florence It had a flat tire on 4/11/26 that appeared to me to be beyond repair. There was no spare tire in the trunk. After finally reaching Hertz, they sent emergency assistance which turned out to be a tow truck. There was no attempt made to look at the tire; they were obviously just a tow truck. Tow truck was taking car back to airport and I did not accompany him as I had no desire to get a replacement car. Tow truck driver documented damage, had me sign the sheet and took car to the airport.
My question: how long before I can expect to get a bill from them ?I have what I hope is full coverage through my credit card for this type of situation but want to get it resolved asap. I emailed Hertz in Italy last week, but have heard nothing. Has anyone else had anything similar and how long did it take to get a bill from the rental company? Thanks
