Looking to hire: 2d side scrolling game art/assets

Hello!

I have created a 2d side scrolling psychological (not horror) rpg with some visual novel elements. The “waking world” aspect is cozy-esque. 2d painterly style is the best way to put it I guess. The dream worlds are more distorted (6 total dream worlds though the 6th is a distortion of the waking world).

Preferably I’d like to do a test run for one background or sprite or asset (paid, of course). If we mesh well, then I’d likely look to hire you to work in stages through each chapter of the game. I’d have to break it into chunks in order to budget appropriately.

I’m not sure what my actual overall budget is, but I think if I can get some responses with budgets etc I can lock that in better.

Happy to answer any questions and looking forward to working with one of you talented artists!

Thoughts from a first time Fable user

I had a full GDD going in- complete story written out, levels planned, puzzles worked out, a battle system, etc. I already had music I created as well. I did use GPT to create some placeholder assets.

Signed up for the base model of Fable, and spent another $100 on additional credits.

I tried using gamemaker but just couldn’t make it work for me, so I used Fable to start building my game as HTML5 for now.

Animations aside (gotta figure those out), I’ve got a complete vertical slice of the first level of the game with all interactions etc. I also have the bones of the next two levels in place and the beginnings of the battle system. I’m sure I could be doing this more efficiently, but it’s so amazing seeing something I’ve been dreaming up in my head for a decade come to life.

I’ve got to slow down on my build because I don’t want to blow through money, but I figure I can work on better art and animations in my downtown between buying credits.

I had no idea how fantastic fable would be but I absolutely recommend it for anyone who has a well thought out idea and needs some help bringing it to life!

AI to help in Construct 3

I have come up with a game idea (I know, everyone has). I’ve plotted out the story, the levels, what items are attained in what levels, what is needed to unlock what.. I’ve planned out battle systems and puzzle ideas/mechanics. I’ve worked through inventory and save needs, and NPC conversations. I’ve even got placeholder assets until I can build or buy GOOD ones.

But I cannot code. My brain cannot compute it. I’ve had some mild success in getting Construct 3 to do some things I’ve wanted it to do, but it’s all still overwhelming my brain, even just trying to break it into small sections of the game at a time.

Are any AI engines going to be good at helping by giving me step by step events to create my game? If I had literally a checklist of you need x event to do y, I could probably make this game. But I’m new to AI and unsure of what the limitations are.

The game itself is a 2d side scroller (because again, I have limited skill) with some visual novel influence. I’d say it’s a side scrolling persona 5 meets fable 2 meets oxenfree type game, a psychological RPG (not horror), but I could probably find something that fits that better.

Anyway- where do I start with AI for construct 3? GPT? Claude?

Thanks in advance!

New shelves!

Using the white light for when I need to see to pick a polish, but definitely going to experiment with the purple/blue/pink lights for display 😂 kudos to my husband who surprised me with the lights today!

Lots of Lumen, Holo Taco, Mooncat, and more!

I really don’t know understand perimenopause

TW for brief mention of pregnancy loss

I feel so dumb because I never really was taught about perimenopause and now here I am at almost 40 and I don’t know what’s happening to me?

Background: 2 years ago I had late miscarriage. The ordeal was traumatic and made worse by my doctor missing vital information that landed me in the hospital.

Fast forward and in January of this year, husband and I decided to try one more time. I stopped taking my birth control (lo loestrin). Got my period back in February and it hit on the 23rd. Then hit on the 20th in March AND April.

Woke up Saturday to an early period that has gotten progressively heavier and more painful. I feel like I’m running hot sometimes but not a lot.

Is this likely the start of perimenopause? I can’t imagine that between April 20 and Saturday I managed to get pregnant and have a miscarriage but I suppose anything is possible? I have noticed no pregnancy symptoms but it would have been so early.

My next well women appt is June- am I likely safe to wait until then or should I schedule an early appointment? While my period is much heavier than it normally has been in my life, I’m not yet changing tampons at a concerning rate.

Has anyone else’s experience been like this? I know no one can give medical advice. I’m just looking for input/thoughts from anyone who may have had similar experiences. Thanks!
