Accomodation - how late is too late to book

Hey everyone so excited to make my dekmantel attendee debut! Going solo, but havent organised accomodation yet. Have i left it too late already? im not too fussy as long as its accessible to the Bos via bike. Any reccomendations you guys have for solo dekmantel accomodation would be appreicated as well. Seems like there is no 'one place' that all festival goers say, and instead are spread across the city?

Looking for a Aankoopmakelaar

I've quickly realised that me trying to sort a rental accomodation without actually being in Amsterdam is effectively pointless. I've been advised that my best bet for finding accomodation is through a buyers agent.

Are there any Aankoopmakelaar's that are able to help specifically with students? I'm looking for a studio/room/apartment that is accessible to UVA. Budget 1000-1500 euros per month.

Someone be brutally honest please

Hello, just got my housing lottery result back, and was put on the waiting list. Other than joining a bunch of Facebook groups, I haven't really done anything else to look for accomodation. I was hoping to move in around Late july/early august, but was pretty much relying on the student lottery which hasn't pulled through for me. One of my friends who also applied got a positive lottery result but isnt going to use it so I emailed the student housing people to ask if her result could be transferred to me but I doubt that will actually work

I'm well aware that i've left it far too late by now by not organising a backup, but in complete honestly the Dutch housing market is a complete joke - impossible to navigate and full of scams. I've spent the last year and half now going through the rigorous exchange applciation progress and have been looking forward to it for even longer. I'm coming from Sydney and still have nothing booked in terms of travel, as i thought it was best to wait and confirm accomodation first.

Realistically, does the waiting list give me any substantial chance? I'm starting to lose hope, and time is running out extremely fast. As idealistic as Amsterdam is as a place to study, hindsight suggests that I genuinely could not have picked a worse city to find accomodation in.

The facebook groups seem like a hopeless fancy as well, and as a man my chances are even slimmer by the looks of it.

So should I just give up? Is there any chance of a miracle here? What would the actual best approach from here on out be? Sorry for the grumpy tone, but this has been a very disheartening process.
