Book recommendations where someone or something is just a bit “off.”

Unsettling horror is by far my favorite. I really like stories where there are people or animals that are not quite right either by how they look or how they act as they’re trying to blend in. Some quick examples being “Incidents Around the House”, “What Moves the Dead”, “Another”, “We Used to Live Here.” Trying to be a little vague so I don’t give spoilers but the point being I like the uncomfortable nature of “something is just off”. Happy to take any other recommendations that fall into that unsettling & uncomfortable category too. Happy October! Thank you!

Help finding book. “Pretty Girl” or something like that??

This is a super vague post so I apologize but I had been seeing a book getting recommended a lot in this sub lately & I thought I saved the comments mentioning it but I guess I didn’t.
I want to say it was called something like Pretty Girl?? Several people had said they finished it & it was so good that other books they’ve tried to read after just fall completely flat. That is about all I can say about it though 🤦🏻‍♀️ but thought I would try to ask! Thanks!

Hydrate+ sync to Connect App

Hey all, just made the switch from years of the Apple Ultra 1 to the Fenix 8. I like tracking water intake on my wrist because it's quick & easy. From what I was reading I had to download an app from ConnectIQ so I got "Hydrate+" because it was the highest rated one. It's on the watch, does exactly what I want it to on the watch itself. The problem is, it's not sending that data over to the Connect app where all my other data is. In the hydration section it says nothing even though I've logged several times on the watch already. Pushing a sync hasn't done anything. What am I missing?

Well, I'm new here. This post is just scattered questions in my brain because I am entirely baffled by this case.

I'm going to apologize right off the bat for this post. It is not well put together, its kind of just rambling because I can't even get my thoughts together on this. I've listened to hundreds of scammer/true crime stories & not once have I ever dove deeper into a story after the podcast concluded but here I am!
I am entirely ignorant to how the court system works so forgive me for that but there is so, so much I don't understand about how she was able to keep this going for so long. More than once!
- In the beginning when she was claiming to be 24 weeks pregnant, why couldn't the court/judge just say "this is extremely easy to prove, you're wasting resources so we are requiring you to prove it, or drop it." I know she "had proof" but it was all things she could manipulate. Can they not force her to show hard evidence for something like this? I know it isn't that simple, but it seems like it should be that simple!

- Why were there zero legal consequences for her when it was proven that she lied about emergency surgery so she didn't have to show up to renew her order of protection against Greg? (Edit: oops, yes I did mean Mike, thanks!) I'm just surprised they let that go so easily.

- What is this woman's story???? Why does she do this? I cannot even begin to wrap my head around her actions. She took this SO far KNOWING she was lying & she was going to be caught in her lies... why would she not just stop & move on to someone else to do this to for as long as she can & then move on to the next person etc. I just don't get why she would get herself in so deep.

- On that note, there was evidence of a very obvious pattern here. I felt like as far as the legal system went, that was barely taken into consideration but maybe it was & I just missed it. I listened to a podcast so I understand what I heard was a straight forward & condensed version of everything but I'm struggling to understand what was hard to understand about this lol. She lies. She's done this multiple times. She's ADMITTED she lies. Again, HOW did she manage to drag this out for sooo long?

- **I understand diagnosing her is against the rules** but more than anything else, I am beyond fascinated about what could possibly be going on in her head through all of this. Can I ask to be directed to other resources that may explain the psyche of a person like this?

Thanks of reading. Sorry again for the scatteredness of it!

Is Supergoop Unseen sunscreen too good to be true or the greatest thing ever?

I’m genuinely so happy with it that I’m skeptical! I’ve gone through god knows how many sunscreens & how much money I’ve spent trying to find one I can tolerate bc they all feel so thick and/or greasy but this stuff is so freaking light & a little seems to go a long way? It’s more expensive than what I was spending on sunscreens but a lot less than other “nicer” brands. Is there a catch here? Does it not actually work well or do I need to be reapplying more than normal or something?
