Hello all! Today we are serving up a nostalgia build wit Ben Tennyson If you want to play a Jack of All Trades then you have come to the right place. Ben 10 is all of the things you could want, but lets be honest, maybe not at the time you want it!
I’ve been a longtime fan of the MCU, even if some of their later post-Endgame stuff hasn’t landed for me. I’ve wanted to get into the comics to read more about my favorite heroes, so I recently downloaded the Marvel Unlimited app to get started.
I figured the Avengers were as good a place as any to begin, and the app suggested the 2018 run, so that’s where I started. I’m enjoying it so far, though I was a little surprised by some of the roster choices. Still, I knew it wouldn’t be a one-to-one match with the MCU, which has been my main exposure to Marvel.
Overall, I’m having a good time, but I can’t shake the feeling that I’m treading water a bit because I’m not sure what the “expected” onboarding process is. I keep running into references, like Iron Man making a snide remark about Captain America putting him in a coma, or mentions of why the Avengers broke up, and it feels like I’m supposed to already know that context.
I know some of these moments include notes pointing to where they happened, but am I actually expected to stop what I’m reading and go track down those other comics?
