I’m struggling to find clients for illustration, and don’t know where to go starting out as an artist. Don’t get me wrong I know it’s not gonna be easy but I just need a little direction on where to go at the start of my career. Any advice helps

I’m doing a concept art book of a game me and a few friends are working on. We have been planning it out for like a year or so but progress is slow since we are all in school and only have 1 programmer. I’m planning on posting more progress on my social media
I’m working on a game with friends where there is a tournament between wizards and one of the wizards is the queen of the Dino Lands. She is a black woman character and I’m a random white guy so I wanna make sure I’m not missing anything obvious. I don’t design a ton of POC characters due to both being a sheltered white boy growing up and mostly focusing on creature design. I’ve seen a ton of horror stories of characters being bad or stupid representation and want to avoid that.
The main things this character does is use reanimated dinosaur remains to fight other wizards in this tournament along with her color palette being mostly browns and oranges. She’s supposed to be the kind of warrior princess archetype but more of a friendly rivalry type of way. Lemme know if you guys need anymore clarifying information
