Is there something “wrong” with listing?

Background: Home is in Colorado and we’re moving to Canada, need to sell our house to use the proceeds for the move. Listed about two weeks ago. Just dropped the price $10k. We have a flat fee listing agent to save money but have done nearly everything ourselves (marketing materials, photos, etc.) to try and maximize profits and decrease headaches.

We’ve had just two showings since listing went live, only one who gave feedback said the price was “right on” and they gave it a 3/5. We have some 800 views and 56 saves on our listing.

Aside from “just wait,” wondering what, if anything, we can do with our listing?

Trans folks planning to move to Canada: now what?

Going off of this post from 10 days ago.

It's been a week or so since Revocation Letter-Gate. My spouse got their certificate and has NOT (yet!) got the dreaded "we're reviewing your application" letter. My application is still in process. Our house is on the market, we were fully planning to move to Canada once it sells, likely in the next month or so.

From what we understand, all C3 applications are being reviewed/will be reviewed and it seems...ill-advised to uproot our lives move to Canada under the current immigration conditions. Jobs, our home, it all hangs in the balance.

But. Staying in America seems like a bad option too, since we are both trans.

Our biggest fear is obviously selling our home here but being "unable" to move to Canada due to fear of paperwork being revoked and such. But the other option - stay in the U.S. and see just how bad it can get for trans people - is also very undesirable.

I'm very curious to hear what people in similar situations are thinking currently. Do you have your certificate (under review or not) and are moving anyway? Are you doing a "wait and see" approach?

It's hard to trust anything IRCC is saying right now, so "just call them and ask about your status" seems unreliable.

Help us think this through??

Citizenship certificate stalled, considering options

Hello!

Heavy user of r/Canadiancitizenship but think my situation is better suited here.

My spouse and I applied to get our citizenship paperwork after Bill C3 went into effect late 2025. We applied urgent (we are both trans and it's uhhhh not great here for us in the states!) and my spouse got their paperwork a few weeks ago, hooray!

Only issue is my cert approval process has been....less than smooth. I am anticipating a months long process (maybe year+) to actually get my papers.

So. My spouse (citizen, bringing a job to Canada) and myself (likely citizen, waiting on paperwork, not working currently) are in the process of selling our home here in the U.S. and researching our landing spot in Canada. Ideally, we'd obviously wait until I have my paperwork to move, but these are not ideal circumstances.

We are considering the following: we move, bringing me as a visitor (from what I understand is a 6-month stay) and immediately apply for spousal sponsorship for me. HOPEFULLY, in the interim six months, I will have my citizenship certificate and all will be fine. But I do have some questions I am hoping people can help with:

  • What are some holes/hurdles in this "plan" we're not considering?
  • Does the spouse sponsorship process take as long as the internet estimates (year+)?
  • From what I understand, an individual IS ABLE to work while applying for sponsorship. Wanted to confirm that is accurate.
  • How does the "six month" visitor limit work? Do people "go over the border" to reset the clock, as I've heard from my friends who have visited places like Thailand for extended stays? Could one, for example, stay in Canada for three months, go the states for two months, and repeat? Or.....
  • We are working on acquiring it, but does my spouse NEED a Canadian passport/is it "preferred" to minimize flack at the border? I have a valid U.S. passport, fwiw.

TL;DR - married couple (one Canadian citizen, other likely) looking to immigrate, wondering the "best" option available to us.

Thanks!!

WSJ today: AI backlash intensifies

bolded relevant gripes amongst growing number of antis.

“The only thing growing faster than the artificial-intelligence industry may be Americans’ negative feelings about it.

In one poll after another in recent weeks, respondents have overwhelmingly voiced concerns about AI, a challenge to claims by industry executives that their technology would gain popularity by improving people’s lives.

Consumers resent energy-price jumps exacerbated by the spread of data centers. Workers fear widespread job losses. Parents worry about AI undermining education and harming children’s mental health.

In recent months, the wave of anger has brought protests, swayed election results and spurred isolated acts of violence.

Pollsters and historians say the souring of public opinion is all but unprecedented in its speed.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen something intensify this quickly,” Gregory Ferenstein, who conducted a recent poll with researchers at Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley, said of the backlash.”

"We sent you a letter" update on portal. Meaning/anyone gotten this before?

Doing my weekly panic check on my status (AoR on Mar. 12; In process on Mar. 19) and got this update, wondering if others have gotten similar?

"We sent you a letter on May 11, 2026. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us." I haven't received said letter yet, fwiw.

My spouse (we sent our apps at the same time, they got their cert a few weeks ago) had an issue but it was all resolved over email.

Hadn't seen this before and kinda curious what they'd be sending me that wouldn't have come to my email...

Two new/in box security cameras, about $250 in retail value

I can send my FB marketplace listing if interested.

UPDATE: since apparently selling for near retail for something in-box is downvote-worthy/bad, i’m happy to let this go for $200 or accept offers for each set 🤗

Posted this on the weekly Friday thread but hoping the broader sub has more info.

Background: Spouse and I applied urgent, mailed ours at the same time, pretty similar applications (both our Gen 0s are great-great grandparents).

Spouse (taking job with them) got their certificate a few weeks ago. I am still "in process", have been since March 19. They received my app on March 11, AoR on March 12, fwiw.

We're basically ready to move once we get mine, so I am wondering if anyone else has updated their portal with information like this (if it's even possible), if it was beneficial, and if so, how/where did you do it?

Help an impatient, ready-to-move, soon-to-be newly minted Canadian??
