Intercultural wedding, names on Chinese invitation page?

Hi! I'm Chinese-Filipino, and my fiance is Korean. He and his Korean parents have Chinese names (Hanja) but they never use it & not on any official documents.

For our Philippine wedding, my Chinese grandparents want a Chinese page in the invitation. Can I use my fiance/fiance's parents Korean names instead? And then just include their Chinese names in parenthesis... If I don't include the Korean names, I feel like I'm erasing their identity (it's a reach but still I just wanna be considerate).

ThePaperProject for P/V?

Hi! Has anyone booked with ThePaperProject for their photo+video package? How was it?

Initially looked into Niceprint for P+V but read negative reviews about them.

Help! Inviting principal sponsors

Hi! How do you ask people to be your godparents for the wedding? What do you ask and tell them? :)) And what should we expect from them when they become our ninong/ninang?

Thought I'd just

  • Text/call to inform of the wedding date, ask if they can be godparents.
  • If YES, get their full names for the invitations. Schedule to meet in person at a cafe or somewhere nice for a conversation.
  • In person, give them a "Will you be my godparent?" gift with a physical Save-The-Date card.
  • A few months before the date, send them fabric for tailoring. And send the final invitation.

Would love to hear how it went for you :) Also suggestions would be great. And recommendations for a gift! Ahhhh so many things to do, we're so excited. Thank you in advance

Name change and legal documents?

Hello!

I’m Filipino, and my fiance is a Korean national. We are getting married in 2027. I’m a local here, but fiance is only on work visa with AEP. We plan on staying in the Philippines.

I wanted to change my last name thinking it will remove my middle name/mom’s maiden name.

So my name would be [First 2 names] [my maiden name] [new last name]. Would there be additional documents needed if my fiance is a foreigner?

What IDs do I need to change? I have a driver’s license, a PH passport, PhilHealth, SSS, TIN, Pag-Ibig, National ID.

My passport will expire in 2028 with multiple visas and few pages left. Frequent traveler. Visas will expire within 2~6 more years.

I also have properties (condos, house & lot), bank accounts, and local businesses (corporations) under my current full name. If I change my name, do I need to revise/update these documents also?

I would appreciate the advice!

Do you take med breaks?

Hi! I was just diagnosed with ADHD last March 2026, and started taking medication for it.

From:
Ritalin 10mg -> Concerta 18mg -> Ritalin LA 20mg -> Concerta 27mg (Concerta 27mg works best for me BUT nowadays only taking Ritalin LA 20mg because naubusan ng stock yung Concerta)

My psychiatrist told me to take a “med break” every week para lang hindi maging tolerant sa meds. General rule for me: try not to go over 30mg for the first year. Tolerant would mean the meds work for only 1-2 hours instead of 6-8 hours. If I need to go over 30mg, she’ll prescribe me with the non-stimulant type of meds.

If you take a “med holiday”, how is it for you? With my line of work in the family business, kahit flexi time, still need to be on my toes every day so I prefer to take meds every day (but lower dosage for the not-so-busy days).

Saturday + yesterday I skipped my meds (long holiday naman) but was so sleepy the whole time. I slept in until 10am (I’m usually awake before 7am). Then the rest of the weekend parang cruising lang ako, nothing was done. I feel like I wasted a good weekend to catch up on my delayed tasks. Today’s a holiday so I will be taking meds to get started on work things.

Invitation colors?

Hi! How do you choose colors for your invitation? Is it supposed to suggest or match colors of entourage, or the styling, or what guests will wear?

My entourage will be in powder blue, light periwinkle, taupe beige, light grey. Midnight blue for the dads.

Have not decided on event styling motif - should this match the entourage or no? Decor will be beige, greenery, and choosing another color.

It’s a formal event. We want the guests to wear any color EXCEPT white, red, black, or entourage colors. Men in dark suit and tie.

What colors should I have for the invitations? I wanted to add floral designs (diy)…

How do you make your partner feel special?

I have a Korean boyfriend of 2 years, I am Chinese and we both live in a Southeast Asian country. I realized lately that I’ve always been the one remembering our milestone days and anniversaries, and I’m always the one making plans to go out on dates. He says he’s just forgetful sometimes. I remember what food he dislikes, etc. I remember our first holidays together or what we did on a specific day, etc. He does not. And he acts surprised that I remember.

I had a fight with him recently (non aggressive or angry) because I felt like this wasn’t the love I had expected. I asked him to plan a nice date for us. Just the full day without him working. He’s a business owner so he has flexible time (but his work culture is still Korean style which means he wants to be hands on with everything). I’m also a business owner but I have employees I can delegate work to since this is… my country (he’s a foreigner here).

I said I want to feel special. He said I’m special to him. He was confused why these 2 things are different. I want to FEEL loved and cared for, I want to FEEL special. His words and actions are not the same which really hurts me. He’s had to cut our movie dates short because he had to attend to a meeting. He doesn’t join dinners with my family because he’s “so busy”.

Everyone’s busy. I feel like I’m just convenient for him. Is it really difficult to grasp the concept that words vs actions are different? Tell me, how would you make your future life partner feel special?

Do you still propose with a ring even if you did “sanggyeonrye” already?

Hi! Intercultural relationship here. Me (Chinese/Filipino) and my Korean boyfriend/fiance have been planning our wedding since our families met and spent time together. Is “sanggyeonrye” considered an engagement already? Is it rational for me to still expect an engagement ring with a proposal?

When I tell our friends that we’re getting married, the first thing they want to see is my ring. Which we don’t have…

It’s either:
- He gives me an engagement ring (lab grown diamond is what I want, but other stones are fine too given our budget)
- Or we get matching rings together

How do you send invitations?

Hi! I didn't have a lot of friends growing up, which means I also don't receive many wedding invitations. The handful I went to, my friends would just tell me about it over text or a FB group event page. No formal printed invitation or save-the-date card. I think one told me she was sending my a physical invitation but nothing came. Meanwhile, I've gone to weddings of my relatives (formal invitation cards were sent to my parents).

Now that I'm setting up 2 wedding events of my own in 2027 (1 abroad, 1 in Manila), what would be the best practice when it comes to sending out invitations and save-the-dates? I need to send invitations for both destinations (but not everyone gets invited to both).

When should I send these out if the destination wedding is in April, and the Manila wedding is in May?

- Save the dates?

- Actual invitations?

- Wedding websites?

Looking for advice and recommendations..

Thank you.

Ideas for an anniversary gift?

Hi! My boyfriend (Korean) and I (Chinese-Filipino) will be having our one year anniversary soon. We’ll go out for a short vacation the week after as our anniversary celebration. But I also want to give something special for the day itself! I’m writing a letter and want to include something more. Are there “customary” Korean anniversary presents?

Thank you~

Ritalin LA 20mg vs Concerta 27mg

Hi! I was on Rit 10mg and Concerta 18mg this year. Now we’re trying to increase my dose. My doctor prescribed me with Rit LA 20 & Concerta 27. I’ll test it out next week, I wanted to know how others’ experiences are with this. Or if you tried both, how was it different? Ty

Unique not-paper wedding invites?

Hello! I want to come up with a different type of invitation. I saw somewhere that the couple gave a customized loaf of bread as their wedding invitation and everyone loved it. It’s cheaper than paper, and guests can enjoy the invite instead it throwing it away.

Can a Muslim participate in Catholic Church wedding?

Hi! We're having a Catholic wedding ceremony soon. Bride is Roman Catholic, Groom is atheist/no religion. Groom's brother converted to Islam when he married his Muslim wife (also Southeast Asian) a few years ago.

Can he take part* in the Catholic wedding ceremony, or is this not allowed?

*As Man of Honor, Groomsmen, or Secondary Sponsor?

Are they allowed to be inside the Church as a Muslim? We will have a Mass as well.

(For Catholic Church, there’s no limitation. Everyone is welcome. I want to know how it will be for the Islam faith) Sorry if I come across as ignorant. Would love to know more!

Thanks in advanced!

Help on color palette?

Hello! 2027 b2b here. I need help with color motif for decor and styling. My questions:

  1. Dapat ba contrasting colors yung decor/venue sa entourage?

  2. Should I let guests wear the same colors as venue styling?

There's no strict color code for the guests (yet) as long as:

- They don't wear shades of pink or champagne (for the entourage lang).

- They don't wear loud patterns or bright neon (just not into this style).

- Formal attire.

- No white, no all black attire.

*Please don't tell me "your wedding, your rules" haha of course, I wanna know what would look good din! Thanks in advanced.
