How to stop nosediving after catching a wave?

I'm a super beginner. Just went on my first solo sesh. I've caught a couple waves, even caught two today but man, I got swept like maybe 8 times. Just about every time I failed, it looked and felt like the nose of my board dove down and hit the bottom of the wave and I'd get flipped. I know part of this is positioning and timing but, it'd be nice to get some pointers, opinions, or even videos what to do stop doing that.

Am I about to get canned?

Passed through the scales today. No issue, just like any other day. For the first time ever I got pulled into the inspection bay. Got caught with my pants completely down. Officer asked for my info, I handed my paperwork, and got my truck looked at. Came back and said I had 4 violations. My address didnt match my license so I got a fix-it ticket for not reporting the change. My highbeam was flickering so I got a ding for that. I hadnt realized my cab card was expired even though my boss had just printed it out for me. Got a ding for that even after showing the officer the current one on my phone. Just got absolutely washed. Officer said to fix it all and come within 10 days and handed me the paperwork. Just finished my shift without an issue. Am I about to get canned tomorrow? I have a clean driving record and have only ever received fix-it tickets that got fixed immediately and got thrown out. I feel like such a dumbass right now I cant even think straight.

Is there a kind of food/drink that is a must-have or hard to find outside of Toronto?

Hey, amigos.

Going to Toronto in a couple days and I was wondering what kind of interesting foods or drinks that are specific to the area. I went to Minneapolis not to long ago and was blown away by the Hmong food and the Native-American food at Owamni. I love trying out things that I can't get at home, even if I live in a major city. I'm not picky or allergic to anything so I'll take any suggestion.

What to do with an old cylinder?

Got some major leaks fixed on an old truck mounted conveyor. Owner didnt want the old leaky cylinder. Normally I'd just take it to the scrap yard but this thing is like 5 feet tall. Seems wasteful just throwing it away. Is there a better way of getting rid of this thing? Don't think too many people are in the market for this kinda thing but I thought I'd ask haha

Did klymit change their sleeping pads?

I know, I know. Klymit has the pads with the misleading r-values on em. We all know this. However, I just got my lady to hop on the backpacking train so I'm helping her get a quick beginner's set up going so we can go on some small trips while it's hot out. I was looking through some local offerings and found that there was two different klymit pads of similar colors and construction but with two different advertised r-values. One has an astm value and one has the classic wierd value. Has anyone here tried the new ones that are apparently astm rated? Is it the same klymit trickery?

Do you really need a skiving tool?

So I restored this hydraulic hose press i got for free. Working great now. Looked on the chart and said it can do high pressure hose but all the types of hose it shows need some kind of skiving. Ive never had to do it before so I looked up the tool for it and god damn, its like 1k+ for the kit and I'd have to buy it in pieces off of ebay. Old guy I used to work with says to just use a fresh razor blade and skive it by hand. How do you guys skive hoses? Is a knife just as good?
