AITA for snapping at my friend when she sent me a picture of escargot

I have been friends with this girl for about 5 years now and we're very close but lately she has been annoying me more and more. When we used to text, she was always a bit cold, but I knew that was just the way she was, especially since she was very friendly irl, despite some conflict occasionally.

Lately, we've been seeing each other a lot less since we both travel a lot, but when we text it's like I'm talking and she says something barely related. (Also, she has been self-victimizing a bit and acting pretty self centered and defensive recently but that's another issue)

Anyways so about a year ago, a snail got into my house and I decided to keep it. Since then, I have found 3 more that I have been raising.

Today, I found one of my snail enclosures empty with the lid partially off and the 2 snails in the enclosure had escaped. I found one but not the other so I've been kind of distraught and scared. I didn't tell anyone since I have been looking around for it.

Today, after I had spent nearly 2 hours searching, she sent me a picture of a plate of escargot.

I feel like that's very disrespectful, given that she knows how much I love snails not as food, but as pets. I feel like that is the equivalent of me sending her a picture of 50 dead dogs (since she has a pet dog) or 50 corpses

She doesn't know about the snail I lost, but I don't understand why under any circumstances she would think that was okay.

I always walk on eggshells around her usually since she is very sensitive about everything and I am quite direct. Maybe I should have asked what her intentions were but I just snapped in my mind. I called her and confronted her about it and she said it was fine so I basically asked "what's wrong with you" and she called me a b then hung up and blocked me. I know we will talk again later, probably soon since my birthday is coming up and she was invited and our conflicts never last long.

I think on any normal day, I would have been annoyed by the photo but only mildly. But today since my snail is probably lost somewhere and I've been angry at her for a while anyways, I think that was the last straw with her. AITA?

Edit : I wasn't MAD or angry about the escargot plate thing, I was CONFUSED and I overreacted. I don't have any moral objection to eating escargot in the first place. I was simply CONFUSED especially since she hadn't answered a previous message I sent before sending the picture. Also I didn't start the confrontation with "what's wrong with you", we started calmly and it escalated. I do like my friend and she likes me but sometimes we get on each other's nerves, which can happen in any relationship Also to clarify I don't just walk around on eggshells with her, even if she is very sensitive, I just know that I can be a bit harsh and so I try not to do that anymore

I've spent enough time in this sub to know what's happening

My 2 cornu aspersum today... I've seen them interact maybe twice since I had them and now this

Expanding a waist?

I thrifted this skirt but the waist was too small (about 2 or 3 sizes). The rest of it is the right size. I was wondering if there was a way to make it more stretchy or just bigger.

I can wear it but it makes my stomach look oddly compressed and it's hard to get over my thighs and hips.

Snail babies?

I have had Edgy since February of this year and she has laid eggs for the first time! He has always spent a lot of time hiding in soil and I do think I found a single egg once a few months ago but this was totally unexpected. It's actually harder mentally to freeze them but there are a lot so it's my only option. I was thinking of keeping one or 2 but maybe that's not a good idea given the weather around my area, which could make them dry out

White spots in the soil

The title kind of says it all. I recently noticed there were small white spots in the soil. For size reference it's like salt (but obviously it's not salt) and it's also on my snails' shells. I have 2 cornu aspersum who recently came out of estivation. They're both moving normally but I was worried since it's everywhere and wasn't there before.

Found a new snail

The weather in my area has been VERY random (rainstorm one day, heatwaves the next) so I'm guessing he/she came to find shelter from the heat by sealing itself up on my kitchen window

Put it on a damp paper towel and I'll release it tonight when it's less hot

Jafar's Escape?

I have 2 snails, Edgar and Jafar, in my enclosure, both cornu aspersum, both adult.

Edgar is usually very quiet calm and slow while Jafar is the exact opposite

Said goodnight last night, woke up in the morning and I couldn't see Jafar. I assumed it was burrowing (Edgy does that a lot) or under a hide he likes cause he's there everyday but turns out no

I basically emptied out the tank (about 10cm height of soil) and can't find him

There are no slime trails around and the enclosure was secure last night and this morning

I think Jafar escaped, does anyone know if there's a chance he could come back??? If so under what conditions??

Upside down??

Just found my (adult) garden snail upside down on her shell in the soil

She might've fallen off the lid since it's a spot she usually rests/sleeps/stays in

I misted the tank with water near her and a bit everywhere cause I was going to anyways and she moved to pull herself up and climb onto the wall like the didn't just give me a freaking heart attack

Should I be worried? It's never happened before

Snail recovery

I found this little guy outside in 37 degrees (about 98 Fahrenheit) on the sidewalk a couple days ago

The shell had some damage but when I brought it inside the body came out of the shell and the snail was very active

It has access to food and calcium

Today it's just not moving much and took a long time to react to being misted with water

Is the shell too damaged to be fixed? Is there anything I can do?

(Photos in order : 2 days ago vs today)

(Also you can't really tell in the photos but one of the eye stalks is slightly bent)

Snail identification

I found this snail on my way out today. There was a big rainstorm last night, which usually brings out a lot of snails. I couldn't check on it, I'll see on my way home if it's still alive, but it's my first time seeing such a large snail, especially in my area which mainly has cornu aspersum or grove snails. Can anyone tell me what kind it is and if I should take it home?

Snail identification?

(yet another) snail showed up in the middle of my room a few days ago. Any idea what kind it is? Apparently it's a Cepaea juvenile? But I'm not sure

I put her in a temporary location cause I'm scared to put her with my other snail

Also how do snails end up in the middle of my room every time it rains
