To my fellow celiacs (or gluten free people)- advent calendar post

As you may have heard, there are cookies in the advent calendar. I got it anyway, and here is what I wanted to know:

- they are well sealed and packaged- no crumbs to worry about
- you still get coffee on cookie days, so you still get something even if you can’t eat the cookies
- they are days >!5 and 20<! if you want to take them out first

It doesn’t really affect the value of the calendar as they are just very small little treats in my opinion.

Alternative to PR lay flat book refills for pocket?

My order is delayed like everyone else’s, and I really need some refills. I love the 96 page books that lie flat. I have some field notes and bound books but nothing that I like as much . Anyone have any recommendations that lay flat, are soft, and thicker?

Has Beth ever commented on how long it will take to finish the series?

I know we are looking at a very long haul for this series, with a pattern of about one book for year so far. With 27 expected books, is it likely it will take another 20 years for the full series to come out? I have a couple of series that I have been reading for 20 years (I am old!) and they tend to be urban fantasy or mysteries where there is a new problem but the overarching romantic storyline is mostly resolved. Will we still be talking about who Emma will end up with in 2040?

I am not being impatient, just trying to wrap my head around such a long plan for the book. The long running tv show comparison is still quite a bit faster than the time it takes to release this many novels.

Making socialization progress while giving eye drops?

I’ve been fostering some spicy kittens for about a week and they have made so much progress. Unfortunately, they both got a URI which I was able to treat with antibiotics in their churu treat.

Now, one of the kitten has developed an eye ulcer and requires a pretty intense eye drop regimen. Obviously, saving the eye and getting her better is my number one priority, but i don’t want her to have lifelong socialization consequences since i have to give her 6 eye drops per day. Any ideas on how to keep up her socialization progress during this time?

17 year old cat with “intermediate” cell lymphoma- when is it time?

My 17 year old kitty has been with me since she was 6 months old. She was always a big eater, and was a hefty 13lbs for most of her adult life. She went from 13 in January 2025 to 10 in August to 8 in April when she was diagnosed with “intermediate” cell gi lymphoma. She then went on to lose another half pound and was 7.5 in May. She is now on prednisone, as getting a definitive diagnosis and treatment would require surgery and it didn’t seem like she would survive it due to age and her weight.

At our last appointment, my vet suggested feeding her another can of food. Moving from 1-2 cans really helped, but now I am at 4 cans to keep her weight stable. The difficult thing is that she seems happy, is very hungry (understandably), and very clingy, so I cant gauge her quality of life and when to say goodbye. She has diarrhea and vomits occasionally which is definitely not comfortable, but not every day. I honestly feel like giving her more and more food is unsustainable, but I’m not going to have her deal with insatiable hunger. I am basically waiting for a sign that she is uncomfortable or in pain and I am just not getting it. Does anyone have any thoughts?
