5/2/5 Parenting Plan

5/2/5 Parenting Plan

My ex and I agreed to a 5/2/5 plan when we divorced. My 5 day stretch has been broken during the school year though because I have to return the kids every Sunday night because I work early mornings and my ex said they wanted to drive them to school.

Since the divorce they have been late to school on Mondays many times and so many times last year the school gave my daughter a detention.

Sunday nights are mine during the school year only when there is no school the following Monday and summertime since there is no school on Mondays.

The point of this post is to ask how difficult it would be to change the agreement so the kids can stay with me all Sunday nights during the year? I have asked my ex about it and they are refusing to change the agreement. What are my options? Can I file a motion to have it changed with the excessive tardies as justification or do I need to hire a lawyer and go down that road?

Best response to recruiter explaining layoff

I'm currently looking for work in manufacturing leadership and was wondering what the best response would be explaining the reason I'm out of work currently.

My recent position was a planned layoff. They told me a couple weeks in advance I would be let go because of restructuring and unfortunately I was unable to find work by that date. This is the first time in my 20+ year career I've been without a job and looking for a good response to recruiters when they ask me what the reason was I was let go. Is it ok to say company restructuring? Do they typically ask follow up questions or they take that answer at face value?

To put what happened into perspective, the company hired a process engineer and the next day they told me I no longer have a job. While I was with the company I did have a hot/cold relationship with the plant manager which probably contributed to my departure.

Best Certification Source

Hi there been in the manufacturing sector for 20+ years and never had a mentor that used Six Sigma.

I am planning to start my journey to yellow/green belt with the Six Sigma Council unless someone here has a better source. I was also wondering if there was any value being certified with each belt vs going all in to green or black?

Cost is a consideration so if there are any free or reduced cost sources that offer equal quality as the paid versions that information would be welcomed. Thank you!

[IL] Last day at a manufacturing plant and there was a safety incident

Today is my last day at the plant but there was a reaction that filled the plant with chlorine gas. The reactor overflowed and there was material on the floor and the reactor. The byproduct of the reaction is chlorine gas and we had to evacuate the plant because it wasn't safe inside. This was 2 hours ago.

The plant is still filled with vapors not as strong but still lingering. I was working outside in the yard and the fumes are still bad out there. The inside of my nose is burning and I'm concerned about nearby residents and what they are experiencing. Trying to figure out what to do now. Should I go to the clinic so there is record? They are firing me anyway so no loss there I guess. What about reporting the incident?

Working for a smaller manufacturing company for about 13 months in IL. The beginning of April they told me that it wasn't working out and I would be let go May 8th.

I told them today I haven't found anything yet but I'm looking and they extended it by a week to the 15th. I most likely won't find something in that time. I do have 10 vacation days left though that I can cash out per the employee handbook so I file on the 18th and start receiving benefits on June 1st?
