Upgrading, need help deciding on new wheel

Hi all, so I’m currently going on my 4th year with my trusted g920, and even though that little sucker served me well I think sim racing is something I truly see myself doing for a while, so I think it’s finally time to pull the trigger on something a little more beefy.

I’m currently looking at marketplace to find a full rig, as I think it’s a way to save money while still getting some decent gear. I’m currently stuck between 3 different rigs, all around the same price, but with 3 different wheel bases.

Rig 1: Fanatec CSL 8nm, with clubsport v3 pedals and 2 wheels. Rig also comes with haptics for the pedals as well as the seat. (It’s the only one with haptics). It also has "slip angle" kit, which in the ad is said to be a poor man’s motion.(Haven’t done research, never heard of that though). Also comes with a clubsport shifter and hand brake, which I can sell as I won’t be using them. Cost: 2,750$CAD

Rig 2: Moza R12 v2, Thrustmaster TLCM pedals and also comes with 2 wheels. Description says "amazon shifter and brake", which I would also sell. Cost: 2,300$CAD

Rig 3: Simagic evo alpha 9nm, P500 pedals, also has 2 wheels. No shifter or brake. Cost: 2,400$CAD

I’m tempted to go towards the first rig, as I’ve read that haptics make a pretty big impact. And I’m sure I can get at least 150$ for the shifter and brake, so it makes the slightly higher cost a bit more appeasing.

Having said all of that, I guess I’m just looking for some advice, as this is a pretty big purchase. These 3 rigs are similarly priced, but offer different things/products, and even with all the research I’ve done I’m still hesitant to pull the trigger on one over the others.

Thanks for taking the time to read all that!!!!

Wet driving, wet line?

Like the title says. I’ve experienced my first rain session today, and drove a wet line. My times were decent, but noticed some people pulling away in acceleration zones while they were on the dry line vs my wet line.

So my question is, is the dry vs wet lines actually simulated? How do you adapt your driving and your lines when it starts raining?

PSA to Gt3 drivers in multiclass

For the LOVE OF GOD please hold your racing line. Stop trying to "be nice" and "move out of the way", just stick to your damn racing line, let the faster car try to find a way past. And especially, DO NOT MOVE UNDER BRAKING. JUST DRIVE YOUR LINE!!!!!

Sorry for the rant, won’t go into details as to why I felt to need to get this out now….. I think it’s pretty obvious what’s been happening lol.

Edit: To answer the people saying "no matter what gt drivers do is wrong" missed the entire point of this post. As per the rules, slower class cars need to drive predictably and facilitate a pass for the faster car. That means drive your line, but don’t fight the faster car(duh). Moving off line right before a braking zone is unpredictable. Moving off line and hitting your brakes on a straight is unpredictable. Except for lmp3s, we have way more power than you and will easily pass on a straight without your help.

I get that some prototype drivers will chirp you out in the chat for literally respecting the rules, and for that I would like to apologize on their behalf. They suck, if they can’t pass a gt3 car safely that’s on them. We don’t claim them, so sorry for their shit behaviour and driving standards.

I can never do an online race again

Just kidding! But pretty happy with my first race. Started p3, got a good start to move to p1, then I was off. Pretty sweet!

Coming from about 2 years of the formula vee on iracing (never moved away from the rookie series because no way i’m dropping 15$ weekly for tracks), these cars are much different to drive, but I’m having so much more fun with this than I ever did on iracing. Got a few more wins after this one, but so far with ~20 hours in the game I am really glad I picked it up on sale. Got my trusted racer badge after 10 races and even though I’m not quickest anymore, I’m really enjoying the clean fights I’m having in the top daily splits.
