Trying to make a scene

7/11 in Taiwan inspired scene. However I think I made a terrible mess and I was a bit too optimistic trying to draw from perspective.

Using Pixquare on mobile.

Weight Painting

I wonder if anyone can help with rigging my character?

It seems that even when removing weight painting, the left leg is tearing the right leg apart and vice versatility. Also there are other issues such as the arms affecting the hips.

Usually when I’ve added a rigify basic human rig it auto weights quite well, I’m not sure what the issue is here. I have applied all transforms to both the model and the armature.

When I try to erase weight painting from areas I don’t want, it won’t erase and still remains and deep blue colour instead of black.

Any pointers, or maybe direction in where I can learn to do this properly?

Thank you!

Hello! and a texture question

I thought I would join and say hello and join this new sub!

I am currently learning to make low poly characters with blender and the modelling and rigging part is fine.

However, I struggle with colouring and texturing. My main source of learning has been Crashune Academy but when it comes to actually colouring my characters, I am not happy with my results.

Other than texture painting directly in Blender, one way I know is to export the UV map to another program and paint the texture on the UV and then reimport into blender to project the painted texture on.

However, I suck at painting. Especially even simple faces. Any recommendations on how to learn to colour characters in a simple but cute anime style?

Why not Pixel Art?

I got time while commuting on the train. I got a phone. Why not learn pixel art?

I know it’s sucks but I’m a bit proud.

Want to get to a point to draw pixel faces which will be projected onto 3D models.

Skillshare for Learning?

I am not lost or a super beginner when it comes to blender. However, I am struggling with the colouration and using lights and I’m not exactly producing anything good at the moment.

I feel that if I can get lighting and texturing down, it will unlock my ability to create what I want or at least have more control over my creations.

I just wanted to quickly get people’s opinions - is skill share worth it to learn the skills necessary? Has anyone learned blender or art skills in general from there?

I feel like it will be more focused than YouTube, less focused than specific courses, but at least it will give more options so it seems to me to be the best of both worlds.

However, as I’ve found, it’s quite hard to YouTube tutorials that push you over that edge between beginner and being able to confidently create what you want to create. I am worried skillshare might be similar to YouTube in that regard.

So what are people’s thoughts on that?

Thank you!

I feel like there is so much spirit in Taiwan

I’m so thankful to live here as I see beauty everywhere. In the city’s, the countryside, the forests, mountains, the markets and the rainy streets.

It gives me such a feeling of wellbeing to be in a place where, I find it hard to explain, but it just feels like there is so much spirit.

This video was just a random spot in the countryside of

I made a little vampire model

Kind of lame, I know but I just wanted to document my practicing, early on in a blender learning journey.

I want to work out how I can make this model, or models like this more interesting…I would presume I need to delve into more complex texturing.

I followed a tutorial and sculpted a fish

Quite new to Blender and art in general. It’s the first time that I have taken to sculpting too so I am somewhat happy with it!

Instead of going fully with the tutorials’ cutesy theme, I wanted to make my fish seem like it could be a creature from resident evil or something.

The tutorial I used is:
