Oh to be a Green Beret in the 80s liberating the oppressed with an Uzi…

Absolutely loved this game as a kid. How could you not?? The full size uzi that had recoil while shooting bad guys and launching grenades. My dream man cave would have this cabinet in it but sadly I had to settle for a really nice backyard instead lol

No more shit posts, Billy. I said, no more shit posts. Maybe you didn't hear about it, you've been away a long time. They didn't go up there and tell you. I don't shit post anymore.

Paulie did the prep work. He was doing a year for contempt, and he had this wonderful system for doing the garlic. He used a razor, and he used to slice it so thin that he used to liquefy in the pan with just a little oil. It was a very good system.

Heard it doesn’t work but sounds cool and probably still tastes good. Thinner always tastes better!

The First Time Jackie Slater Played Reggie White

Wish I knew how to share the YouTube short I just watched but it was Jackie Slater talking about his first game against Reggie right after he had come from the USFL.

Reggie had been playing DT over the guard or center all game and Jackie didn’t know much about him so he was an after thought. Late in the game after a few lead changes, he saw Reggie was now lined up against him at End for the next play. Jackie admits he laughed and thought he had a free play off basically.

At the snap of the ball he said Reggie burst out of his stance so fast that Jackie had trouble trying to suddenly hurry up into his pass pro. He said he saw Reggie reach low before using his later famous hump move on him which sent all 285 of him flying off his feet five yards down field. Jackie laughed as he said, “I watched Reggie toss me like nothing, hit my quarterback causing him to fumble, which Reggie recovered all before I had even hit the ground yet!”

Punch-Out!!

While most of us probably remember the NES version better, I was lucky to get to play the arcade version a couple times and thought it was a really cool game with unique controls. I was only like six or seven and my dad boxed so I have good memories of him trying to help me defend myself in the game lol

Double Dragon!

My first experience with a two player fighting game to save your kidnapped girlfriend. Weird how that kept happening to protagonists in the 80s right? Fond memories of this game at a franchise restaurant called The Ground Round that had top shelf arcade games in the lobby along with really good baby ribs and served hot fudge sundaes in a miniature plastic baseball batters helmet. Obviously this was the restaurant I asked my parents to bring me to for dinner the most lol.

Gary Reasons: The Hit

He may not be remembered as well among some of the other defensive greats of the Giants in the 1980s, but on a key fourth down goal line play this man used absolutely every ounce of his ability to stuff a very good running back with one of the most all out tackles I’ve ever seen.

It was like he sensed Humphrey was going to go airborne and used everything in his power to stop him before he could do it.

Hoss!!

Maybe not be a hall of famer but the dude shook off 7 years of rust from the bench to win two playoff games and a Super Bowl where he went 20/32 for 222 yards, 1 TD and zero interceptions for a passer rating of 93.5.

Also turned in three solid years with the Raiders where he won another playoff game where he out- dueled John Elway according to John Madden. Any team would be lucky to have a guy like Jeff Hostetler lining up under center for them.
