Is the newborn period worse in summer or winter?

Currently have an 8 week old in the middle of Australian winter (specially Melbourne) and am wondering if the extreme cold, short days, darkness etc. is adding to the trenches.

7 week old - how to survive?

My son is 7 weeks old and honestly it feels like hell at the moment. When he’s awake, he’s constantly grizzling or screaming. He fights naps all day, wants to constantly be walked/rocked/swayed, will cry as soon as you sit down. At night he will only go to sleep if he is constantly on the boob and in my bed (which I don’t mind I enjoy co sleeping), but it means he is completely dependent on me to settle. My nipples are sore and I’m touched out. He also wakes every 1-3 hours. My eyes are swollen and itchy from being so sleep deprived. During the day I just want him to be asleep so I can sit down in peace. I also just feel guilty for not enjoying this as he’s so cute and I know he will only be little for a short time. It just feels really heavy at the moment and I’m struggling to see the light.

I’m a FTM, will be 41 weeks tomorrow. I had a stretch and sweep at 39+2 which went well, I was already 2 cm dilated and cervix was softening. I was told I could have my baby within the next few days. However, nothing happened other than losing my mucus plug. I’ve been having on and off mild tightenings/cramps every day basically. Now here we are nearly 2 weeks later and I’m having to meet with my midwife tomorrow to discuss an induction. My hospital induces at 41+3. Feeling frustrated with my body for not progressing when it seemed so promising. Every day that I wake up still pregnant makes me want to cry. This has by far been the hardest period of pregnancy. If anyone has been in the same boat or has positive induction experiences I would love to hear!
