Watch out with these; they conveniently voided all their boosted odds 10mins before kick off last night citing palpable error on all of them. Many of us didn’t receive an email / app notification etc and it’s left some people £1000s out of pocket.

Been debating making this post, but I had a surreal experience a few weeks ago and wanted to share.

I ended up having a severe allergic reaction and had the initial feelings of “oh shit, try and stay calm” once I realised what was happening. 999 call, and epipen used for the first time, and I was certain it was 100% going to trigger a panic attack given it’s a massive dose of injected adrenaline (compared to what a body can naturally produce).

Of course it triggered loads of shaking and shivering, I was literally vibrating, and hospital confirmed on arrival that my HR and blood pressure were way up, and temperature was low, but would you believe, no panic attack.

I felt strangely calm the entire time, got my things together, headed for hospital as soon as I finished with the 999 call, and then spent several hours in a&e, mostly just feeling incredibly tired.

All this to say that when crisis actually happens, we can cope, despite having an anxiety disorder, and even when we feel certain something is going to happen we can be proved wrong!

Hope everyone in the U.K. / Europe has managed ok through the heatwave this week and is looking forward to a slightly more comfortable weekend!

Just looking for some advice really.

Had my first severe reaction as an adult two days ago; Usually, any sort of contact allergy stays localised and minor and is sorted with an antihistamine / steroid cream. I do have a life threatening peanut allergy so already had EpiPens in the house. Had multiple reactions as a kid but I was too young to remember them.

I knew I had a fish allergy, and accidentally got some on my hand 3 days ago. I thought it was only problematic if I ate it, but within 5 mins, my finger had swelled up and I had a rash rapidly spreading up my arm. Once it reached my shoulder I was getting twitchy at how fast it was escalating, so I called 999. They advised to use EpiPen and get to hospital within the hour, which we did.

I was discharged after 4ish hours, and felt ok, but since yesterday I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck, legs are so sore and achy, almost feels like DOMS from the gym, and I’m having small localised random reactions on and off (small rashes or like a swollen itchy lump, and my eczema has now gone mad). I’m assuming my system is just going to be on high alert for a little while, but has anyone else experienced the same?

I knew I had a fish allergy and thought it was only an issue if eaten, but serving dog food containing a small amount of fish, I got some on my hand. Within 5 mins my little finger was swollen and I had a rash rapidly spreading up my arm to my shoulder. As it was getting so bad so quickly, (and I’m asthmatic & have life threatening peanut allergy too), I decided to phone 999 who advised me to use my EpiPen on the phone and to get to hospital ASAP. My partner drove me as it was faster than waiting for an ambulance.

Rash went down within 10 mins of using the EpiPen, and hospital monitored me for 3 ish hours before discharging me as my HR / blood pressure etc were normal, and said if it started up again to come back in.

Felt fine upon leaving and went to work yesterday but today I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck, legs are so sore and achy, almost feels like flu, and I’m having small localised random reactions since I got home. I’m assuming my system is just going to be on high alert for a little while, but has anyone else experienced the same?
