Are there now direct trains from Birminhgam to... Edinburgh Airport?
Nezajímá mě to.
Asking women for the reason(s) they rejected me - would you consider it OK?
Hello everyone,
I would like to ask whether you would reccomend asking the women I ask out to explain their rejection.
I am not looking for precise reasons, but rather trying to see whether it was the way I approached and treated them that was off-putting, or if it was related to my personality, or an external factor.
I am an autistic guy, so this sort of feedback would genuinely help me spot problems and work to improve myself.
However, at the same time, I understand that women have no obligation whatsoever to give me feedback, and to respond to my question(s) truthfully.
Since confession and rejection are sensitive topics, I don't want to further exacerbate the situation by asking a potentially provocative question.
Thank you for your answers!
Mass in Church Slavonic
Are there any places where the Mass is celebrated in Church Slavonic? Just found out that it was common practice in Croatia, and I think it could be an interesting experience, so I'd love to know more.
The image shows a post claiming that Tolkien found an account of life in Europe from 6500 years ago, in an Oxford basement.
Lol.
Lmao, even.
Can anyone give me info on whether this is a genuine, established fan theory or just conspiracy theorist BS?
Hello, I'd like to share my thoughts on my experience of the Extraordinary Form mass, which I have visited for the first time ever today.
Perhaps, I missed important details, or just didn't get something.
Firstly, what stood out the most was the fact that everything but the homily was in Latin. While I enjoyed listening to the ancient language, I was flicking through a book with translations of the texts, so I couldn't really pause and reflect on it.
Another point of interest to me were the silent prayers (sorry if I'm not using correct terms here). I have autism and ADHD, and the priest reading the transfiguration texts out loud in a Novus Ordo mass helps me focus on the miracle that it is. Since this was absent here, I couldn't pay attention.
I felt confused and unwelcome at the service. These emotions might be caused by personal resentment towards the TLM community, but this was also the reason why I decided to "try" it in the first place. My sister began attenting Vetus Ordo masses last year, and has since developed a preference for them - this also drew my curiosity.
After the mass, I talked to some of the people who attend it regularly, in order to find out why they prefer it. They cited appreciation of historical continuity and the lack of stimulation due to the priest speaking silently many times (which, however, caused me to lose focus entirely, due to my disorders mentioned above).
I'd appreciate any additional insight or information from more experienced TLM attendees. Thanks to everyone for taking their time to read and answer, God bless!
