Largest Slavic ancestry in the USA and Canada by region

In Texas only Czech and Slovak combined (as well as people who report their ancestry as "Czechoslovak") are larger than Polish, while in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota Czech alone is larger than Polish.

Interactive map - largest Indigenous tribe in each region of Latin America

Link to the interactive map - https://yourrootsdna.net/latin-america-tribes-map.html

I'm posting also a "paper" version, but I recommend the interactive version. You can see total population and Native population of each region, and when you click on a tribe from the list, you will highlight all regions with this tribe.

Largest First Nations or Inuit ethnicity by census division in Canada

It can be seen how widely the Cree expanded across Canada, they even migrated west into parts of British Columbia, where in some census divisions they are now more numerous than local tribes. BTW does anyone have the data saying how numerous were the Cree around year 1950 or during the first half of the 20th century? In Eastern Canada it can also be seen that some Mikmaq people migrated into southern parts of Ontario.

I gerrymandered as big area as possible in the U.S. which is 30% Native American as a whole, and I called it an autonomous Native American state

This whole contiguous area includes 164 counties + parts of 2 more counties. I added the number of inhabitants in each county to the map. This area as a whole is 30% Native American (2020 census). I also gave them access to a port (Grand Marais) at Lake Superior.

You can carve out such a large area with Native majority (53%) in Canada

Proposed contiguous autonomous territory for First Nations (similar to the existing Nunavut for the Inuit). The flag is based on the flag of the American Indian Movement (four colours represnt the four directions).

Who founded the oldest permanent European settlements in each U.S. state and Canadian region - updated

Which country started the oldest permanent European (white) settlement in each U.S. state and Canadian region. Note: I counted citizenship of settlers, not their ethnicity (so for example ethnically French settlers who established some settlement when they were American citizens, are counted as Americans).

EDIT:

A version with some corrections as per discussion: https://i.postimg.cc/dwpHnZP0/Permanent-settlements-B.png

Who founded the oldest permanent European settlements in each U.S. state

Which country started the oldest permanent European settlement in each U.S. state.

As for Honolulu - I think it existed before 1820, but first whites settled there in 1820.

EDIT:

I want to thank everyone for constructive criticism, I will update the map later based on your suggestions!

Ethnic groups of Poland's 14 largest cities in 1939

Ethnic groups based on 1931 Census, population size based on 1939 Statistical Yearbook. By the way my great-uncle was a merchant in Gdynia in 1939. He was later murdered in Intelligenzaktion Pommern.

By the way, is it possible that the Russian-speaking population in Bialystok (and to a lesser extent Vilno) were actually Belarusians using the Russian language, rather than genuine Russians? What do you think?

EDIT:

For another estimate of Lvov's ethnic composition before World War 2 you can check a book by Ukrainian nationalist Volodymyr Kubijovyč titled "Ethnic groups of the South-Western Ukraine 1939". He gave very similar numbers of Poles in East Galicia as the Polish censuses of 1921 and 1931 gave the numbers of Roman Catholics. However, Kubijovyč artificially divided Poles into two groups (Poles and Latynnyky), just like before that the Polish 1931 census artificially divided Ukrainians into Ukrainians and Rusyns. Kubijovyč's book is available for free online.

Roman Catholics (according to censuses) and Poles (according to Kubijovyč) in Lvov:

1910 Austrian census - 51.17%

1921 Polish census - 50.99%

1931 Polish census - 50.44%

1939 Kubijovyč - 50.95%

So even an Ukrainian nationalist admitted that Poles were an absolute majority in Lvov.

Ethnic groups of the Arctic by province

When deciding which regions belong to the Arctic, I used the Arctic Council's definition.

I counted "white Canadians" and "white Americans" as one category each, even though they have various ancestries. But usually each person is a mix of several ancestries, not just one. British, German, Irish, French, Polish, Ukrainian, Scandinavian, Italian and Dutch are the most common European ancestries in Alaska and northern Canada.

Assyrians and Armenians before World War I

Sources of population ethnic data: Arnold Toynbee's & James Bryce's "The treatment of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, 1915-16" (page 661) and David Gaunt's "Massacres, Resistance, Protectors: Muslim-Christian Relations in Eastern Anatolia During World War I" (page 406), as well as the Russian census of 1897.

Armenians before WW1

Based on Armenian Patriarchate at Constantinople figures for the Six Vilayets, and Russian 1897 census:

https://i.postimg.cc/JRNLsQ1X/Armenians-Ottoman-Empire-Toynbee.png

Note:

"The analysis excludes certain portions of these provinces where the Armenians are only a minor element. These portions are as follows: - Hakkari in the Vilayet of Van; the south of Siirt, in the Vilayet of Bitlis; the south of the Vilayet of Diyarbekir; the south of Malatia, in the Vilayet of Mamuret-ul-Aziz; the north-west and west of the Vilayet of Sivas."

I think those were areas inhabited mostly by Assyrians.
