Has anyone felt like their capacity for tolerating BS has decreased?
I've been on wattpad for 4 years (ig?) and I've been reading for almost 6-7 something yrs now and I've noticed that my capacity for tolerating certain things has gone down to hell.
Just now I was reading a mafia book on wattpad and dnf'ed it cuz the MMC is emotionally and literally deaf and blind. For me, to track all the books (actually just to *stare* at the growing numbers sometimes and feel good) I've read, I save them in my reading lists and I'm doing it for quite some time and I've many books I read in past where the scene was almost similar and I've finished it.
Also, just the other day, I was reading the story about an orphan girl who with the help of her lover found her family, she was a single child and her parents adopted a girl when she got lost. Now, the said girl who's her adopted sis was making her life difficult by pulling bs shits. Her parents, who the author emphasized again and again were gentle and loved her very much were either spectating or just said to her, "you're her big sis, she made mistake, you can forgive her." Utter fucking dogshit, another dnf.
Yesterday, I dnf'ed one more, the FMC's MIL 'by mistake' poured a whole ass kalash of milk over her when she was going to an imp meeting with MMC. Now, even the blind could have seen (or read) that it was deliberate. The MMC, who by the way loves her so much that he can 'allegedly' take a bullet for her, went to his mother and yelled at FMC for coming in his mother's way and making her late for the temple. Like, dude what?
And these are some of the 'extreme' egs, I've dnf'ed for far more smaller things in the recent months. The MC is top surgeon at 23? dnf. The 'badass' FMC is tolerating bs? dnf. 18 years old is somehow mafia boss and topper? dnf. The capable MC is acting like a dumbfuck? dnf.
I've dnf'ed more recently than read, has anyone having similar... what do I call this? issue? nah. situation, yes. Is anyone having similar situation?
