Choosing my first Pistol

Hello, I'm sure this question is extremely common. I'm just entering the firearms world and going through the permit process in my state. Once approved, I am looking to purchase my first 9mm pistol.

I've been doing all the normal review watching and rankings lists and its extremely overwhelming. I am looking for some opinions from experienced gun owners.

I would like a 9mm for sure. I do plan on concealed carrying. Obviously just starting I've shot maybe 5 times in my life and I am not an impressive shooter to say the least.

Is it easier to learn and become proficient on a compact as opposed to the popular slim line micros like the p365 and shield plus?

I do plan on taking a great many training classes and visiting the range as much as my wallet will allow.

I've shot a shield plus on a few occasions, a Glock 19 gen 6 and 2 different 1911s in .45

Any tips and recommendations are greatly appreciated

Thanks everyone!

Bowel trouble- TMI

I was carnivore all of last year. No diarrhea issues after adaptation. Kinda had a rough time with mental health at the end of last year and was on SAD from September to December . Back on carnivore since January. I'd say I'm fairly strict. Occasional cheat meal maybe 2x a month. I have had constant loose stools (sometimes kind of oily where I can see opaque liquid floating around the stool). It's been almost 6 months now. I drink coffee regularly and always have. I use nicotine pouches regularly as well. I have reduced dairy to almost none as my first instinct was that was bothering me. I usually eat 2 meals a day. Lunch is almost a pound of 85-15 ground beef with some hard boiled eggs and maybe some avocado mayo if I'm feeling crazy. Dinner varies, sometimes I'll have steak tips all week. Some weeks I'll do chicken thigh skewers. Some weeks I cook and slice a chuck roast. Hamburgers a lot with the warm weather now. I really like the way this diet makes me feel and do not want to give it up. Could it be all the rendered fat I eat ? Please help!!!
