So I inherited this oak table..

I recently inherited my grandmas home and her furniture including this solid oak table but it has this weird vinyl looking coating on the top and I don’t like how dark it is making the house.. is there any way to lighten it up for someone who doesn’t know anything about doing that? If anyone can give me any insight into this table about its history I would love to hear it. I will include pictures

CIO pushed in tv shows

I’ve watched about 3 different shows now that have mentioned sleep training. One was shrinking on Apple TV there was a nanny in the show bragging about how she enforces sleep training. Then another show I was just watching tonight called good girls on Netflix the mom in it gives some lose advice to a coworker who has a newborn and was complaining about sleep saying “noise machine, black out curtains, and let him cry it out” UGH I did a major eye roll at that moment like cmon these shows are pushing this certain agenda as propaganda on the public to sleep train your baby normalizing it when it is NOT NORMAL it’s ABUSE These networks are all in on it. It’s insane. And I was the only one among us watching tonight who recognized the idiocracy this stuff works on people! I was watching with my mom and husband and they both are pretty much for sleep training cio my mom had us in cribs in our own rooms at like 2 or 3 months old and claims we didn’t cry but I know the truth is her memory fails her often she even admitted she doesn’t remember. And my husband falls prey to the social media propaganda wheel believing it teaches them they’re ok when we don’t come running to every cry to comfort them. It boils my blood when he denys the countless research on infant brain development and how they are not able to self soothe I’ve explained it to him and he just doesn’t want to listen. So thanks stupid shows for pushing that belief on vulnerable parents

Advice on type of carrier to get

I would like any input on helping me decide what type of carrier to get next. I currently have a structured buckle carrier - wildbird aerial - and use it a lot but I want to get another type to be able to back carrier with and something with less of a thick waistband. I am interested in a ring sling but don’t know what brand and if they are good for back carry, and I’m also interested in an apron style buckle carrier or even mai dei (sorry if I am spelling incorrectly)
The brands I am interested in are:
Oscha
Happy baby
Hope & plum

I want to use back carry so I can do some cooking and cleaning while carrying my baby who is 7 months and about 20 pounds. I like carriers that are quick and easy to get on and off

Thanks :)
