Do you think higher wealth people will have different survival rates compared to low income folks?

Big suburban house on an acre with 3 working vehicles in the garage. Money to spend instantly if needed at outbreak etc etc

Not necessarily talking about the ultra wealthy, maybe just top 25% earners compared to bottom 25% earners.Thoughts?

What's your opinion? Will these new structures last longer than structural brick of times past?

I'm in Chicago, plenty of new construction made of cmu with a brick veneer.

The old ones are 3 wythes, at least the 1st floor and sometimes you see the top floor is only 2 wythe.

Which will last longer?

I own some of the old buildings that are already 100 years old, to be honest I think they will generally last another 200 years

Really it's just regular maintenance, even if the out brick is in bad shape, they can be replaced while the inner walls look untouched

I believe a lot of the new construction cmu's are fully grouted though, someone correct me if I'm wrong

How to remove sander marks after coating polyurethane?

What are my options?

See pic, it's a 90 year old cedar chest solid no veneer. It was in rough condition so I sanded to bare wood, stained, and so far have 2 coats of polyurethane

I was lazy and only had 120 on the orbital sander

Training a pack of 25 dogs as your first barrier of defense?

25+ dogs, German shepherd and pit bull types as outdoor dogs. Train then to attack the Zombie's limbs, piece by piece.

Say you have a group of 15-30 people in a small community. The dogs can be your first line of defense.

It would be a sizeable force

The Florida Keys would be prime real estate in the apocalypse...

A chain of islands all connected by bridges, it would be reasonable for a group to start in key west and secure island by island, then seal off one of the bridges when you have enough islands

Never gets cold, can grow a lot of different food types year round, and there is already a population of chickens in key west. Fishing off a dock is also easy to get basic small fish for real protein source

Only issue would be fresh water, how could you get fresh water?

Will dentist let you know if you have gingivitis or gum disease?

Just got back from my new patient dental checkup. Haven't been to one for 2 years.

During the exam the dentist said something about this could borderline use a deep cleaning. Also said I have puffy gums.

I assumed deep cleaning just meant more time cleaning didn't realize it's a specific procedure.

Getting super worried as Internet says gum disease isn't reversible.

My teeth never bleed when brushing, but do when flossing

Thanks

At the lakefront beach (Chicago) for a bike ride, big FOMO with all the people hanging out...

It's like one big party, that's how it is every weekend in the summer.

Tons of ppl in their 20s/30s, makes me feel like missed experiences that majority of people get to experience in their 20s. Also most of the women are in bikinis and thongs or whatever, pretty rough to see what you'd never get to experience.

Anyone relate? If you're in the city give me a shout
