So I’m pretty sure my otos will be having babies as soon as the storms come and I want to be prepared. There already was one egg that hatched last time but as soon as the baby hatched it got lost in the big tank and I wasn’t able to keep an eye on the baby so I don’t know why it died. So I wanted to ask if breeder boxes are a useful tool or if it makes the survival rates even smaller than they already are or if feeding becomes easier

I got a new little guy for my shrimp tank. My old guy have died recently (after 1,5 years with me) and without him the tank felt really empty so I did a little bit of research as to where can I get a beta that was bred and raised with proper care and that’s how I ended up with this tiny beaty. He’s really curious and he spent the whole first day in his new home exploring and chasing the shrimp. So far he seems to be settling in nicely he looks happy with his new plant filled home. I hope he stays with me for years he’s such a sweetheart

Something very interesting actually happened this is likely the only egg my otos have laid. I know how unlikely it is but they’ve already tried twice before so I would assume that after a whole night spent practicing and getting better at the T pose they have succeeded once and then they were too tired to continue. Also I wanted to ask if a breeder box is a useful thing to have while raising the fry if it’s easier to feed the lil guys when you have them contained in one place. I’m just thinking about how to get the most success raising these precious tiny babies. If the baby makes it to adulthood it’s probably going to be my most favourite oto because seeing a tiny creature hatch and grow just results in a different kind of attachment. I’ll welcome everyone advice you give about raising otos

Stressing my oto cats with water change during the storm have resulted in them breeding. That wasn’t there yesterday and it looks exactly like an oto egg. I’m going to care for tiny oto kitten!

Sooo I’m waiting for a storm to come through. The ladies are egg filled and the last time Tiny and Little Lady tried their best to make babies but unfortunately they were too young and inexperienced to succeed they’ve been trying for days to get the T pose right I hope they’ll be successful next time
