Thoughts on Kiesel Antares

So I’d love to get my hands on a custom 7 string with a multiscale evertune. My initial thoughts were an Aristides, but don’t want to spend $6k + import taxes lol. So my next thought was Kiesel.

I have heard a lot of mixed opinions/good reviews but also horror stories. How’s been the Kiesel QC lately? I also have to say I’m pretty use to USA custom shop QC. I don’t like imported/indo QC. Not to trash them, but I rather save a little more and get something of decent quality. What I care the most is fretwork, and finish.

Another debate is their pickups. A lot of people even compare them with M7’s and BK stuff. I’m pretty use to the BKP organic feel and definition. I will mainly be playing in Drop F# and lower

I’m also a bit skeptical of the sales people, I called and they are very friendly and supportive when clarifying specs/questions, but a bit pushy to make the sale. Like if they were desperate or did not sell guitars.

I’d love the give them a shot as the Antares looks sick and has the specs I’m looking for, but would like to hear opinions.

Thoughts on Kiesel extended range pickups

I’ve been needing a custom built for some time and the last models Kiesel released really caught my attention, however I’m skeptical of their branded pickups, and have seen on forums if you want to swap their pickups you will require routing anyway.

Does anyone have experiences with their pickups on extended range guitars? How can they compared to bigger names like BK? My favorite pickup is the BK Ragnarok.

Advise needed

So finally after many attempts I learned that proofing is very important and it’s best to do it slowly and cooler to avoid butter melting. First time that I don’t get any butter leaking and dry croissants. These turned out good, however I think my crumb could be more open, any tips to make my crumb less tight and more airy?

Pickup/electronic swap

Just wanted to get advise/opinion. When swapping pickups and electronics, does the soldering joints/job affect the sound/feedback? I want to swap the active fishman pickups on a guitar to passive. I have a mini soldering kit and at least can get to do a join. Of course not professionally done, but enough to produce sound.

Evertune and finish work

I accidentally caused a paint chip in my guitar (Jackson juggernaut) string clippers slipped and felt in the body. A circle came of the finish exposing the wood. I also had been thinking installing an evertune on this guitar.

Any trustable and reputable luthier in the US that can do both of these services? I would like to know if the chip can be fixed, if not I’m willing to have it refinished. But I’m having a hard time finding a luthier that can do both services together.

Advice?
