Study links chronic xanthan gum consumption to colon inflammation

I know this is partially unrelated to Sibo but interesting and valid nonetheless. I like most people in the group I on a strict diet

Perhaps it’s something that others haven’t heard yet.

People with IBS-D. how do you manage to keep on/ gain weight?

I’ve been suffering with intense liquid bowel motions lately and struggling to hold weight because of it.

Basically every meal I eat turns to running to the bathroom an hour later. I’m trying to eat a bit more slowly to see if I can digest better.

it’s frustrating as hell and I’m kinda out of options. I don’t want to take any anti-diarrhoea tablets because I have had serious problems in the past.

Worst bathroom ever. 10 seconds from disaster. 😮‍💨

I was siting at a cafe having my usual same meal I eat everyday to no issue. I see smoked salmon on the menu and think I haven’t had that in ages so I buy it. Delicious….

Fast forward 30 minutes later just as I get back in the car horrible cramping and pain almost had me in fetal position. Cafes shop now closed, no toilet in sight drove 6km to a local park to find another locked toilet. can’t hold any longer….pulled the whole lock/handle off the door go inside blood and needles all over the floor from addicts.

Wondering if I should get a hepatitis shot just to be safe from going in there. Absolute nightmare.

If you eat different foods and you have more gas/ farting than usual, does that mean your gut microbiome is changing to an extent in regards to introducing new species and is this a bad thing?

I know fermentation naturally happens in the gut but when you eat different types of food does that mean your gut bacteria is changing all the time?

Fat malabsorption and Black pepper

Hey all, 🙂

So I have had a little bit of a breakthrough with my Sibo/IMO fat absorption issue.

My blood test before for lipase ( enzyme that digests fat) was 14 which is very low.

I am constantly studying a lot of herbalism about what things could naturally and slowly increase stomach acid and enzymes as well as fat-soluble vitamins A,D,E,K…..

I came across Celtic sea salt( sodium chloride) and black pepper (piperine) so I’ve been having it every day with my 4 eggs for breakfast. I recently had another major blood test and my lipase has increased significantly to 25 which means it is now back in normal range. Stool colour is also more brown rather than yellow.

my absorption and a bit of my digestion has improved even if I am still suffering with bloating from normal carbs as a result of the bacterial fermentation

I am sharing this because I know a lot of people in the group are suffering and frustrated with weight loss from fat absorption and yellow stools for years on end and think that they have tried everything.

I also suffer from chronic gastropathy ( chemical gastritis) which usually I can’t handle these kinds of things but if I eat some food as a “buffer” like a few scrambled or poached eggs then have it ground fine mixed in it is manageable.

Titrate it up slowly. Do not think more will cure me faster. You don’t want any setbacks.
