The community has grown so fast!

This isn’t super related to Glendale itself, but it’s honestly amazing to see how active the community has become. In just the past few days, the number of posts has more than doubled, going from around 90 to 200!

It’s really cool seeing so many new people joining and posting. Hopefully, with more people here, we’ll also get more theories, discussions, and different interpretations of everything surrounding Glendale.

Really cool to see this place growing!

Summerdrive has nothing to do with Glendale Archives

I’ve seen a lot of people connecting the Summerdrive video to Glendale Archives and building theories around it, especially now that the format is similar, but I don’t think the video is actually a prologue or part of the Glendale Archives story.

The way I see it, the video is more of an inspiration for Glendale than something that exists within its universe. The recording style, the nostalgic feeling, the old footage, and especially the idea of looking back at people and memories all feel like elements that could have inspired the aesthetic and concept of Glendale Archives.

And yeah, I understand why people make the connection, especially since the person in the Summerdrive video is the same actor/creator behind Glendale and there are obvious similarities in the way he presents himself. But I think we should also remember that Summerdrive is its own music and video project. The video is talking about very personal things, including his brother and his life, and I think turning those intimate moments directly into Glendale lore takes away from what the video is actually trying to express.

To me, it feels much more meaningful to see it as one of the inspirations behind Glendale’s atmosphere rather than a secret piece of its story. The nostalgia, the way the footage feels like an old memory and presents to us that concept with the old camera, and that feeling of looking back at a life or childhood that has already passed can all exist as creative inspiration without the events themselves being part of the Glendale universe.

So I don’t think the Summerdrive video is secretly a Glendale Archives entry or prologue. It feels more like a personal work that helped inspire the language and atmosphere that eventually became Glendale Archives.

Theory: Was Mr. Whiteout the One Checking the Hotel Room?

I've been thinking about the hotel scene, and I wonder if mister whiteout could have been the one checking the Subject's room.

Now that we know much more of the different stages of Nesters early, mid, and late stage I was wondering if it was just a mid stage Nester. We've seen that they are capable of things like saying "hello," breaking windows, and showing more complex behavior. But something about the hotel scene never really felt like a normal Nester encounter.

It also doesn't feel like a trap. What's interesting is that when the Subject checks the room, he doesn't use any of his usual methods for dealing with Nesters. He doesn't shout to draw them out, use the walkie-talkie, or do any of the things he normally relies on.

That made me wonder: what if it wasn't a Nester at all? Whar if Mr. whiteout was the one checking the room instead?

Has anyone else had this thought, or am I overlooking something?

Walkie Talkie Doesn't Always Work + A Theory About the Big House Nester

It just hit me, the subject uses the walkie talkie most of the time to know how close the Nesters are. He recognizes them by the noise they make, and we all know this. But I haven't seen anyone bring up what happens at the Big House and at the cabin.

When he first goes to the Big House and spends the night in the cabin, he uses the walkie talkie, yet there's already a Nester inside the house. The walkie talkie doesn't react at all.

That Nester also behaves the same way as the one we see after he closes the door when he arrives at big house a few days later, it doesn't make any noise, it just watches him, acting very similar to the cabin one.

Now that the last tape is out, we know the talking Nester eventually gets into the house. But if there's already another Nester inside being the one of the cabin or the one from the stairs (that we know he is still there as he before the vacation he moved stuff around), how could interact two of them? They're never shown together, but in theory this could create a conflict between three characters: the subject, the silent Nester, and the talking Nester.

Maybe I'm stretching it, but hear me out.

It could simply be the same Nester appearing at different times. Or, if you really want to speculate, what if the talking Nester is actually the one that had been nesting in the Big House all along and now he just returned to his nest? Another possibility is that the cabin Nester is the same one we later see on the stairs, and it followed him.

We now know Nesters are capable of following someone for days. The trip from the Big House to the vacation hotel takes about three days (I don't remember the exact location's name, but someone mapped the places and calculated the travel time on the subreddit). So it's definitely possible that the same Nester (silent one) followed him the entire way.

The subject when talking about nesters types or noises in the last tape never mentions no radio sound ones, yet we now have two examples (or rather one) of this happening.
