Recently picked up this vintage go kart on fb marketplace. The guy I bought it from said it’s from the 60s and has been sitting in a bush hidden from view for years. I plan on either restoring the motor if it’s original, or swapping it with an electric motor from an e-bike!
Here is my 31 year old original na8 radiator compared to an identical brand new one! Planning on replacing the coolant with zerex Asian vehicle green.
Just finished removing my style bar and replacing all the bolts and trim. I thought the style bar was just an extra cosmetic item but I’ve learned that it actually was taking the place of an oem brace between the two seatbelt towers. Is it safe to drive without this brace or should I find a replacement first?
Is this an aftermarket antenna? All the other pictures of similar Miatas I’ve seen have that long silver antenna.
Just removed the style bar that one of the previous owners had installed on my 95. I kind of liked the silver look though. Any recommendations for functional bars that are a similar color?
Just finished refilling my refrigerant and I noticed that when the fan is on the 1 or 2 setting the ac compressor periodically turns off for a few seconds and then comes back on. Happens more frequently on the lowest setting, doesn’t happen on setting 3 or 4 at all. Is it supposed to be operating this way?
So I bought a pair of bbs center caps from two different eBay sellers, and I noticed that there are a few weird variations between the two pairs. One pair has thicker logo pieces than the other. One pair has a piece labeled “made in W. Germany” and the the same piece on the other pair is labeled “made in Japan”. I had previously purchased a full set of bbs rs center caps by mistake, and logos on those are different as well.
Are eBay sellers just mixing and matching genuine parts? Or are some of these center caps replicas?
Can the tears in these seats be repaired? Or is the only option for damaged leather to replace the whole thing? If repair is possible is it diy level work or would I be better off taking the car to a shop?
Any tips on how to restore cloudy taillights? I bought this recently and one taillight looks brand new while the other is very faded. I tried a few headlight restoration kits but they don’t seem to have made much difference. Is this something that can be fixed easily or am I better off replacing the entire taillight?
Where on the na Miata can I safely use a floor Jack? I thought I chose a solid part of the frame to lift from but it needed up bending.
