Do YOU want to see a new, progressive, accessible venue in Edinburgh?

(hope this is ok to post here… love this sub)

- of which focuses solely on the experience and voice of creatives in industry and the community?

Myself and a few others are working on creating a new space focusing on education and high quality live performance, which would also be a hub for the arts; with food and drink available of course!

To begin this process I need to hear YOUR suggestions and feedback on my ideas! Once we have extensive feedback, I can send it to relevant funding bodies to make this dream of many a reality. To do this, I ask for 5 minutes of your time to fill out a Google form if you have worked in the entertainment industry in any capacity before- or are just a fan of the arts! There’s also much more information and description in the Google Form to read about our goals for the project.

If you have any questions, please message the instagram account: thejesteredinburgh
I encourage comments and discussion below this post also!

Thank you so much for your time.

Any success with pumpkin?

Not sure if it’s an old wives tale but I bought some 100% pumpkin puree to give to my kittens every day before breakfast to aid digestion as they’ve both had the runs on and off for about 4 weeks. The vet isnt concerned because it’s not like frequent or fully liquid, they just aren’t fully formed poops- and sometimes they do have proper poos. They’ve been wormed and they’re getting their last vaccinations tomorrow.

I decided to try them out on pumpkin just to see if it helps them any. They’re both 13 weeks and are obsessed with it lol so even if it doesn’t I’m still gonna give it to them to help with improving vitamin and fibre intake. I’m not the biggest fan of the dry food I have them on but it’s what their old owner had them on so I’m gonna wait until they’re around 6 months to change it (or at least until their tummies have settled).

They’re both very active, drink and eat loads, and are completely bonded to me so I’m really not concerned about the health side of it. I’m very aware kittens just don’t really have a settled or ‘normal’ digestive system until they’re adults. Honestly the only issue for me is having to clean their bums when they don’t do it themselves 😂

Any pumpkin success stories? Leo pic from last night for kitten tax

Unmarried partner visa - potential issue??

Me and my partner have been looking at this route for a while. I’ve lived in Scotland my whole life and they’re American.
We have had a flat together for a few months, they went back to the states last month so I’ve been on my own. Previous to that we had been living together in my old flat since November so about 6 months.
Unfortunately we can only really predate evidence of our relationship to about September despite the fact we have been together for the required amount of time. This is due to having new phones, new iCloud accounts for work, various reasons really.

We do however have literally about 15 people willing to testify on our behalf (some of which even knew my partner through online games since early 2025), loads of photos together, of our cats (yeah we’re lesbians how did you guess), council tax, proof they’ve sent me money for my rent here etc. I don’t make the 29,000 required but I am on disability and have two jobs as well as freelancing, and can prove that too.

Where do we stand here? Is it worth applying? It would be such a shame if they can’t get this visa JUST because we don’t have old chat logs…
Marriage/ partnership isn’t an option for us at the moment.

I’m actually in Scotland so this may as well not effect me as much as I’m concerned it will.

My partner is currently looking for a sponsorship from the USA to the UK after just being here on a travel visa for 5 months. They’ve had some luck with interviews and such, there’s a few positive things happening that have lead me to believe they will probably have a job within the next couple of weeks. They’re planning to pay for super priority, so hopefully will only take a week or so to get here after they have been granted the sponsorship.

However I am SO concerned what reform getting into council could mean to us. Admittedly they are white passing (but Native American roots) which does make me realise their position is more privileged than some.

What could this mean for us- and for immigrants as a whole? As the sub rule states I don’t want a political debate, I just want to know what the potential policies are and what they could mean.
