Growing my hair out for the first time. Best hair-style for me?

For some context -

Face shape/structure: Oval (the closest match would be Dev Patel but his face is slightly longer and his chin is slightly more pointed than mine).

Beard style: Tony Stark's beard without the side anchors (I think this is a Van Dyk beard right?)

I wear specs but only when I'm outside.

Currently my hair is in the "awkward phase" and is like Messi's 2006 world-cup hair (not as voluminous right now in the middle, but yeah the pattern of growth and hair curve at the ends are similar).

So will a center/middle part longer hair look good on me or is there any other hair style that would suit me better?

Is life past 45 worth living for friendless, unmarried people?

I'm in my mid 20s and thinking about this topic makes me extremely sad tbh. I'm literally clueless as to how I will keep living on past 45 - when my parents might very well be dead, and most of my siblings, cousins are all married and living their own lives?

Having a close circle of best friends is indeed a blessing but the thing is God isn't that kind to everyone. I used to consider someone a good friend, but is that person actually a good friend if they only help you till you are academically behind them? No, right? So I cut that person out of my life and right now, my friend circle is just a point. Maybe it'll be better maybe not, but being an introvert doesn't really help in forming new friendships or relationships after a certain age.

Honestly, I don't know what the future holds, but I've kind of accepted this reality that I'll be alone forever. Although it hurts me very deeply at times, I know I can never be a near-perfect friend, or partner or father because - I overthink things, I have a tendency to run away if things start getting difficult and above all, I don't want to cause anyone any pain or suffering because of me. Of course there's this tiny part of me that yearns to experience life like a normal adult, have a happy family of my own and grow old but with every passing day that part is dying a slow death.

So what is your perspective on this topic, since y'all are already in your 40s and y'all must have seen or been through some shit in your lives?

Day 8: Most Underrated Owl City Song

Results of Day 7 (Best Owl City Bonus Track)

#1 => How I Became the Sea (65 upvotes)

#2 => If My Heart Was a House (50 upvotes)

#3 => Strawberry Avalanche (31 upvotes)

Since 5/9 cells have already been occupied by songs from Ocean Eyes or ATBAB, for this round I urge y’all to choose something from the rest of his discography - 5 other albums + Of June EP, The Midsummer Station EP and Ultraviolet EP.

I’m not banning songs from OE/ATBAB, but just for this round, I’ll follow this weighted point system -

For songs from OE/ATBAB: 2 upvotes = 1 point

For songs from other Owl City albums, EPs: 1 upvote = 1 point

So for example, if Alligator Sky or Umbrella Beach has 20 upvotes in total, it will translate to 10 points. But if Metropolis has 20 upvotes in total, that’ll mean 20 points.

Song with the most points wins this round.

Day 5: Owl City song with the Best Instrumentals (songs from side projects or AY scores not allowed)

Results of Day 4 (Most Iconic Owl City Song) : Fireflies was the undisputed winner!

For today’s song discussion, I want y’all to focus only on the background instrumentals/music of Owl City songs. Focus on the melody, the beat drops, the synths, the key changes, the layering, the production quality and mention that one song which makes you think - “even if Adam didn’t sing on this track, it would still arguably be one of the best Owl City songs just because of the music and/or atmosphere it creates”.

If you can instantly make a choice, mention it in the comments but if you can’t, I’ve provided a list of YT links (to Owl City instrumentals) in the comments. Go listen to the instrumental versions of 2-3 of your all-time favorite OC songs, then come back and mention which instrumental stands out the most to you.

PS - This isn’t my channel (may God bless this channel’s creator) but I just thought these links would be a useful resource for the community to have as these will make people appreciate Owl City the instrumentalist and producer even more.

I'll count the aggregate of upvotes on all comments mentioning the same song name. The song with the most upvotes will occupy the particular cell.

Day 1 : Best Owl City Album (Please read the post body)

Firstly, this 3 * 3 grid will strictly be about "Owl City songs" except the center cell (which will depict the best OC album that this sub collectively decides).

Secondly, I won't fill this grid in the normal order (left->right and top-> bottom), instead it will be random. That way no one will know what category is coming next (except me haha!!)

Thirdly, I will post every alternate day, that way it will give enough time for people to share their opinions in the comments.

Lastly, I will decide the winner for each cell based on a simple point system -

I'll count the aggregate of upvotes on all comments mentioning the same song/album name. Whichever song/album ends up with the most upvotes, occupies the cell.

My favourite lyrics from each album

I created these Spotify styled lyric cards using this tool - https://adaiasmagdiel.github.io/spotify-card-lyric/

What are your favourite lyrics from these albums? I'd love to see your picks, and I'll be absolutely delighted if anyone has the exact (or almost) same choices as me!

What's the ultimate "Thank God Owl City exists" song for you?

For me it's undoubtedly Alligator Sky (ft. Shawn Chrystopher)

Although this isn't my fav OC song, I keep coming back to this very often. There's something about the lyrics and the contrast between Rap and Melody that does it for me. Plus I love themes like - Space, Abandonment, Hope, Wonder, Faith which the music video portrays beautifully.
