Would you buy parametric/adjustable STL or custom G-Code ?

Hi, I am currently pivoting away from the end customer with Gerridaj.com, but I could keep the configurator if there is any demand for it. So I want to ask the community.

My questions:

Would you buy configurable files? How much would you pay compared to a static STL, for example 5 dollars for static versus what price for adjustable?

What kind of models interest you most? Lamps, vases, wall art, functional parts, furniture, or robot programs?

If you are a designer, would you use this to sell your work? Do you worry about customers breaking the model and blaming you?

I am also trying to figure out pricing for the tool itself, whether subscription, pay per download, or one time fee. Any feedback is welcome.

And if you know of other 3D printing communities where this discussion would fit, feel free to share or crosspost.

Would anybody be interested in designing and selling configurable workflows on the platform?

Any help is very appriciated.

Thanks.

Non-planar clay 3d printing test with robotic arm | Gerridaj at Stoneflower3d

First test of Gerridaj toolpaths on a robotic arm at stoneflower3d
Adaptive extrusion rate has not yet been tested, as the extruder is currently not connected to the control interface. As expected, this leads to issues when printing with varying layer heights. Nevertheless, the generated toolpaths perform well overall.

Full 6-DOF motion is supported, although it is not required for such simple use cases.

We are currently looking for pilot users working with different robotic arm vendors to evaluate and validate the postprocessors. Gerridaj is not limited to additive manufacturing, it can be used for any type of offline machine programming.

If you are interested in exploring potential applications or participating as a pilot user, we would be happy to connect and discuss your use case

Robotic Arm 3D Printing: Testing LFAM Capabilities

Last week, we tested the generation of robot arm toolpaths on a real robot from u/stoneflower3d. After a few tweaks, including setting a custom TCP on the physical robot, everything worked exactly as expected and matched the simulation results.

Non-planar printing and non-uniform layer heights require an extruder interface integrated with our software, so the adaptive extrusion rate could not yet be fully validated.

We are currently looking for additional pilot users with robotic arms from different vendors to test the remaining post-processors.

If you're interested, feel free to reach out here or visit gerridaj.com.

Robot Control on Gerridaj, com - Coming Soon

Gerridaj was created with the long-term goal of controlling any machine. The next major milestone is robotic arms, and the Digital Twin is already working successfully.

The vision is to build a vendor-independent, parametric robot control platform that can simulate and control virtually any robot, provided its post-processor is open or can be reverse-engineered.

Key capabilities include:

  • Vendor-independent robot programming
  • Parametric robot control
  • Digital Twin simulation
  • Offline programming
  • Near Real-time robot control
  • Collision detection and avoidance
  • Path planning and optimization

Ultimately, Gerridaj aims to become a universal machine-control layer.

If you have a robotic arm and would like to be among the first to test these capabilities, I'd love to hear from you.

Vase mode on steroids

Anyone did something similar?

Does anyone here posess a 6DOF robotik arm? (I would love to test the 6DOF Toolpaths with somebody who has one)

I am currently working on a new Gerridaj interactive Tutorial. If you have any special wishes for the tutorial you can tell me now and I will see if I can incorporate that.

Current interactive tutorial will be mostly about the interface and guide the user through to build a workflow from scratch.

If you have any wishes, please post it in the comments ;)

My first attempt at a teapot, using stacked non-planar spiral contours.

I realised I have not posted here for a while now. I have been playing with petg for a bit instead of Ceramics. But I am just getting back into it.

I did a first test print of an idea I have had for a while.

I have been exploring using blender to create nonplaner gcode.
