New statistics about victims of the porn industry

Hi, Found this on a anti sex industry account on instagram, it’s from a 2025 study and I’ve translated it from Swedish down below (the statistics is from people who has been filmed in the Swedish porn industry):

  • 84% had PTSD
  • 65% were raped when filmed for porn
  • 69% had attempted at least one Suicide attempt
  • 77% was exploited for the first time in porn as children
  • 88% was subjected to sexual assault as children
  • 96% was subjected to assault/abuse as children
  • 51% had been choked during the production
  • 33% had been tortured during the production
  • 45% had some form of disability
  • 86% had been part of "traditional" prostitution (Source: Donevan, Jonsson, & Svedin 2025 https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/epdf/10.1080/08039488.2025.2464634?needAccess=true)

And these statistics are from Sweden, a so called “equal” country where “buying sex” is illegal. (Sorry if something is unclear or grammatically incorrect)

Hope amid all of the Cornell 7 disgusting mess

Change is slow. Too slow. For most of human history, women have been little more than slaves. We have been something to be owned by men and fucked by men. That's it. But now we have the access (at least in some countries) to obtain an education and financial independence. That needs to be promoted and pushed heavily to our young women and girls. And we are doing a good job of that.

NCES data - US college enrollment at undergraduate level is 57% women to 43% men. Women earn 61.3% of masters degrees. Women earn 57% of doctoral degrees. Women now earn 55% of MDs, 56% of JDs, 50% of MBAs. THIS IS HUGE!!!!!!!

Change and progress are slow! But look at where we came from. Don't give up hope. Fight and live a better life for all the women before us who couldn't. We stand on the shoulders' of giants. And don't forget to hold the door open for the next bunch of young women coming through!

For those who have given up on dating, why and how is it going?

I am 34F and have given up after a SA from a Hinge date, meeting multiple married men trying to use me to cheat, being slapped by a guy I was dating, having a guy tell me how little worth he thinks women over a certain age have, porn addictions, the list goes on....

I have lost empathy for men

Has anyone lost empathy for men and been able to get it back? I've endured a lot of abuse dating (SA, emotional abuse, physical abuse) various men over the years. And I think it has finally wiped out my ability to have any empathy for men as a group. I still have an enormous amount of empathy for women and animals. But any time I hear anything sad happening to a man, I might as well be hearing a story about something bad happening to a pencil. I know it is a result of all the abuse I've endured. I've gone to therapy. But the empathy is just gone. In some ways, it feels nice and protective given how many years of pain I've endured. I'm curious if any other women have had this happen to them? It feels so weird to have no empathy for an entire gender. I don't date anymore as I can't imagine even being able to enter a relationship with a man i'm not capable of having a drop of empathy for. Plus, all the abuse has really diminished my attraction to them. My disappointment with the US political environment and the rolling back of women's right to their own body has also greatly hurt my ability to have empathy for men. Strange to feel this way. I've always been so deeply emotional. And it is still there. Just wholly inaccessible to men.
