Is it just me?

I actively dislike all the interna places in Camp Spirit. I have encountered five so far (the Arbor counts as two, and Orsina has two). It totally defeats the spirit of walking up to the bears and just chatting or giving them a hug as you go by. You need to make a definite effort to go see them, and so far, the "inside bears" haven't really been compelling enough to bother with unless they need something.

Am I the only one who thinks that? Unlike the last game, when I loved most of the bears, the only bears I look forward to talking to are Astrid, the knitted bear, and the Crayon Head bear near the cooking machine.

Snugula's toy

Does Snugula interact with her toy at all? It asked for the hous,e to be in a wet place, so I put it down on the beach. I gave Snugula her toy, but she soon abandoned it.

I took the toy down and put it by its house, and every time I go by it, it bounces like things do when they want you to pick them up, but I have no idea what to do with the toy.

Camp Spirit Shovel

So there is an imp taunting me with a shovel, "coincidentally" at the same time I find a spot where a stronger shovel is needed. Does he have the stronger shovel I need? It doesn't seem to want anything other than to gloat that I don't have one.....

Cozy Grove vs Camp Spirit

I adored Cozy Grove. Adored it. It got me into "cozy gaming" and I was enchanted at every turn. I play on PC, so I was so excited when Camp Spirit was released. Cozy Grove seemed magical and I looked forward to it every morning. Camp Spirit, not so much.

I'm kinda disappointed in it on a couple different levels. I will continue to play it, but the magic is not there. I realize I'm nitpicking, but I had such high expectations and hope after CG.

I think the thing that makes me saddest is that before, I went to bears for tool repair, recycling, crafting, cooking, and archiving found things. Now, I go to machines. Feh. Too close to real life.

Before my birds gave eggs. Unless something happens later in the game, now I have to buy eggs from Pandam's kid.

Unless I'm missing something, it seems all I can do is use my gems to buy stuff, I can't sell them or recycle them for coins like I did before. And there are way too many bears selling stuff. And what's with the astral projection campers and the two companions? It's probably too much to hope for that they go away when the seasons change, like the ducks did in the old game,

I know they tried with Camp Spirit. It's a good game. I'm sure a lot of folks love the online messaging and gifting. I really hate playing games online, so that's a no-go for me. I do like the quick access inventory stuff for the most part, but that's the only thing I can think of that I like better in the new version.

How do the two games compare for you?

Innovation vs Copy Cats

It seems like as with most industries, cozy games have their innovators and copy cats. Some are even better than the original, but a lot of them, sadly, look thrown together. I look at demos and think "Oh, this is just like......."

The first hexagon tiled game I knew about was Dorf Romantik. Now, there are more than I can count. Some are more beautiful than DR, many are more complicated, but it's seems like the same basic gameplay.

Librarian--even though it's newer, I can think of at least four seeming copy cats that have appeared--Librarian looks classic; the newer ones, not so much.

Unpacking--how many games are like this now? And hidden cats? Goes without saying. Coffee Talk type games, too.

And one could even make the point that it all started with Stardew Valley

I think one of the reasons Tiny Bookshop is so popular is because there really is nothing like it, at least that I know of.

What cozy games stand out to you as "One of a Kind", at least so far......

Hotel Galactic is 11 bucks on Steam right now

Is it worth it?

ETA:

After I posted that, I tried the demo. I play on PC, so I love that it's great for point and click, BUT the controls are SO WEIRD. And there are no directions in the demo for how to play. I got frustrated and quit but am intrigued enough to come back another day. So far, it appears that I can only scroll right, left, up, and down, and the way things get done are by clicking on various minions and directing them to do it. But even that's not clear.

I'm trying really hard to like this (I have no idea why), but the game itself is making it tough..,,,

The Artisan of Glimmith

No affiliation, just wanted to call out this beautiful puzzle game. You are in a magical land in the sky, and you have to fix the stained glass. Puzzles vary in the level of difficulty, but are marked 1, 2, 3, etc. The artwork in Glimmith is gorgeous, and to fix the stained glass, shapes are the puzzle, but you get to pick the colors, which is fun.

Anyway, if you like puzzle games, don't overlook this one.

Critter Cove wood planks

My cutter makes wood planks and softwood planks. Both icons are slightly slanted like a backslash, only not as steep. Like this kinda: \ As you can see, no "hardwood" specified.

The donation boxes at some of the houses ask specifically for HARDWOOD planks, with the icon slanted like this only not as steep: /

None of my equipment seems to make hardwood planks. Is this an EA glitch or am I missing something?

For those that have played Librarian more than once......

What calls you back?

I am gobsmacked at the number of people who have played this through more than once. Make no mistake, I am loving it---I'm not using any magic and not touching the keys, and I have less than 500 books left. I am going to be sad when I'm done.......

...but I can not imaging playing it again. Not even with magic. The most fun for me has been figuring out which shelves some of the obscure titles belong. After one play through, I will know all that. so the game will just be picking up the books and putting them away.

Is there something I should know? I haven't seen anyone else say "one and done."

Librarian--Vanishing Books

So I had two books in the same series. I thought they went on one shelf--nope. So I took them to another possible shelf. Nope. Out of ideas, I hit Q to discard it, watched it land on an empty space on the floor, then vanish. Discarded the other one, it did the same thing. WTF? It was perfectly clear floor space (I have about half the books shelved), they both landed and *poof*, they were gone.

I remember reading a post here from a user who ended up two books short, but I can't find that post. I'm wondering if the same thing happened?

Is there any way to turn of or avoid combat like you can in Coral Island or Fae Farm? I just started the game a little while ago, and it seems like every time I turn around, there is someone or something to fight with.

I really hate combat. Is there a way to minimize it if not get rid of it completely? If it's like this all they way through I'm not going to bother with it.
