Student buying a model 3
Hey guys,
I’m looking at getting an EV since I’ll be driving about 120 km round trip for school, 6 days a week.
Right now I have a deal on a 2022 Polestar 2, but since it only has about a year of battery/motor warranty left, I’m also considering a 2021–2023 Tesla Model 3 with lower mileage.
I live in Québec near the water, so we get salty roads, salt from the water and a lot of snow in winter. I’ll also be charging at home.
My main questions are:
* Is the Model 3 Standard Range Plus a good choice despite being RWD?
* How is the corrosion/rust resistance long term?
* Which would you personally trust more for 6–8 years of ownership?
*what is your experience with the SR+
For insurance, I was quoted:
* $108/month for the Polestar 2
* $163/month for a Model 3 Long Range
I haven’t checked insurance yet for the SR+.
What would you guys suggest?
Thanks in advance, and let me know if I’m missing any important info.
