Design a home that’s easy to clean because I hate cleaning

I grew up with neat freaks and as such I hate cleaning. My partner is building me a house and I’m designing it, I’m already doing dark tile that hides hair and dirt so I don’t feel like I have to clean it every single day but what other features would you have in a home to make it easier/less stressful to clean?

Would you do a solid banister for stairs to make dusting easier? How would you design washrooms? Would you do rimless glass showers to prevent mold? Would you do a dark tile for a shower? Would you have the shower be heated to prevent standing moisture?

He’s building it all himself and can engineer or figure out anything. I genuinely want a dream home that doesn’t require the daily cleaning I grew up with.

Ontario Power Generation security clearance - no references

I’m doing my OPG security clearance for work and it’s asking for 3 non-family references. I’ve been out of work for 2 years, don’t have the contact info of any of my previous coworkers, don’t have any friends who live in Canada or have known me for 3 years and the people in the club I’m apart of who’ve known me for that amount of time have declined when I asked if I could submit their info. I’m a very big introvert and very rarely do I leave the house unless it’s for groceries. Am I cooked?

OPG Clearence

I tried calling the hall to inquire about getting my OPG clearance but they didn’t answer. Called both training and the reception. Would I be able to get it if I haven’t completed my 500 hours yet?

Local 2309 list

does anyone know what the list is like? I just finished my on boarding training a month ago and waiting to get sent out to work. I want to finish my 500 hour probation.

Are you guys seeing this thunderstorm right now?

I feel like I’m in the Midwest, I’ve never seen the sky light up this much here.

Edit
buddy in Kansas said it’s not that serious and it’s just a thunderstorm. Told him we don’t have cool ones here very often lol

Cheap cordless angel grinder options

Im practicing for my CWB test and after 2 classes, I was told im not allowed to use the wire wheels or any of the tools. I’m frustrated because I used them for the previous classes and the instructor saw me use them and said nothing but I’ve dropped about 2k on other tools and can’t afford to buy an angle grinder and battery especially. Union told us not to buy power tools since we’ll always be supplied them so I don’t know why they expect us to bring in our own power tools. If I was told this, I would’ve budgeted for a cordless grinder.

i have about $50 to spare, I’ve looked on marketplace and Kijiji, haven’t found anything. Could I get by with a 3” cordless? I want something to keep for my career since I’ll clearly need it on the job and I don’t want to worry about cords.

What is an alignment pin?

I apologize for the dumb question, I just got into the union and don’t know much of anything about millwrights or their tools.

I got the tool list and one of the things is an “alignment pin”. I tried googling it and got different answers. Does someone mind showing me a picture of one so I can know what to get?
