[L] best friend dating my crush

Hi everyone. I'm going to try and not make this story so long.

I'm in my mid 20s (f), I've had a crush on this boy since I was in elementary school and we grew up together same friend group and everything, my best friend knew over the years how much I really fancied this guy. Well, she started dating him last year and waited a month or two to tell me, I was the last one to find out. I congratulated her and told her I was happy for her. Deep down inside I wasn't happy for her and still feel an extreme amount of guilt for not feeling supportive of them. I act very supportive but I don't feel it. There is something so much more hurtful that my best friend of all people ended up with this guy. If it was anyone else that ended up with him i truly wouldn't mind but it's hard since it's my best friend.

I work with her too, and she talks about him all the time, what they do, where they go, what they make for dinner, what shows they watch together, what music they listen to together. i hate hearing about it. I feel like a god awful person for feeling this way, if I was normal and a better person I probably wouldn't feel this way. It makes me feel so dirty and guilty it's such an uncomfortable feeling. Her and I have gradually drifted apart because of it. It's also so awkward bc I wonder if she's told him that I had a major crush on him I used to tell her all the time how sweet he was etc etc.

Idk I don't know what to do with these feelings but I'm so over feeling like this and I really need help. My therapist hasn't been very helpful. I have tried everything to just embrace their relationship and accept it but it's like a mourning a future I'll definitely never get to have now. Like I said he has dated before and I never ever bothered me when he dated someone else, but there's something that hurts more about it being one of my best friends who knew exactly how I felt about him. Someone please help

Struggling with my faith

I am hesitant to share this and hope I don't receive any backlash. I unfortunately can't control this struggle that I have been having, but I am trying my best to educate myself and figure out how to move forward.

Growing up I was born and raised catholic. My parents are very religious. Growing up this felt natural to me and I never ever questioned it. As I got older maybe late high school until now, so it's been about 8 years or so, I have struggled with a lot of questions regarding god.

Again, I am asking for guidance and help and am hoping to avoid getting hate for this, so please keep this kind as I am truly trying to get back into my faith. I have had many troubling questions ranging from what if religion or god isn't real and it's just something we are told to practice to make us all behave, or feel better when life gets tough, or help us feel better and more comfortable about dying?

I want to believe in god so badly, part of me does but a big part of me questions everything. Does anyone have any comfort or advice to provide on how I can move forward?

Months ago, in confession, I spoke to my priest about this, expecting that he wouldn't be so nice about it he was incredibly kind, and understanding. He told me that god gave us brains to think and question and it is only natural for someone to have questions, he encouraged me to continue showing up to church and to pray. And though I do these things, nothing has changed.

So I am truly reaching out on help with this, if any has had a similar experience, or knows someone who has, I am curious to hear your story. Does anyone have experiences where they have truly felt god? And lastly, what kind of advice would you give to someone who is trying to get into their faith?

Thank you in advance, please keep it kind

Dating an alcoholic

my boyfriend and i broke up because of his drinking, he drinks 6 plus beers everyday without fail, give or take he will skip a day here and there but it's rare. i didnt like how he was so dependent on it. we were together for almost two years and we had a talk about it when we first got together and he assured me it would get better. here and there it would for a few days but it would never stick.

sometimes hed say he knew he had a proboem, other times hed say he didnt and that i was a buzz kill. i dont mind social drinking at all especially if he had the ability to cut himself off, but he doesn't cut himself off until he's on the verge of a black out. Hes claimed he's not An alcoholic because he only drinks beer and he only drinks at night.

There have been a few occasions where he admitted he has a big problem, but after some time he will go back to saying he doesn't. His grandfather was an alcoholic so is his father, his uncle, his step father, and his mother, I believe it's in his blood. Any off day he has he has to get drunk, he says that's how he enjoys his time.

Whenever we hang out 99 percent of the time without fail he mentions needing a drink. his behavior could also get weird when he drank sometimes like he'd get paranoid and say pretty messed up things, his filter was completely gone and he'd really embarrass me.

so now we are broken up and he says hed be better off with a girl who accepted his drinking and it didnt bother them. will other girls really be okay with this? he makes me feel crazy and like im the only one it would ever bother and im sitting here questioning myself wondering if i am too critical of the situation. I have been so hopeful and patient for a very long time. But nothing has changed. I keep hoping he will come to his senses.
