I have little experience in the freebie game so I'm not sure what else many people bring

Recent BTS dreams?

As someone who rarely dreams, recently I've been surprised by the amount of times that BTS has visited me in my unconscious mind following the start of their tour. So, I wanted to share a dream I had about them here, and I'm curious to hear any of your recent (or older) dreams that you have also had about them!

  • So, literally this morning I had a very vivid dream about going to see BTS on their D1 Arlington date (for context, IRL I have D2 tickets, but I'm still looking for D1 tickets), and in this dream I actually didn't have tickets for it.
  • Somehow I was able to make it into the venue though, and I sat in some unoccupied seats in the 100s section (which surprisingly, Matthew McConaughey was also there... maybe my dream was pulling from the first BTS concert I went to back in 2018, where he actually was there). Unfortunately I was a little late to the concert, so I arrived when they were doing their IDOL walk around the venue.
  • However, once they went backstage to prepare for the final leg of the concert, I snuck up to the front and found some seats on the floor. In this dream, instead of having ARMY time with the signs, they instead turned the lights off and ran various ads in Korean on the big screen. A corporate nightmare, I know. Anyways, a security guard came down to our section with a scanner and was asking to see everyone's wristbands, but of course as someone who had no ticket, I didn't have one.
  • When she finally got to me, I remember pretending to look around, acting as if it fell off, even going as far to get down on my knees and look under the chair for it. The guard looked at me with sad eyes before hugging me and saying, "It's okay, God told me you should stay here, don't worry." ... for context, I am an atheist IRL, so I'm guessing all that talk of baptismal names and Jikook's church story from the live the night before made me think of my former roots as a Christian LMAOO.
  • Anyways, the final act of the concert begins, and instead of doing BUTTER and DYNAMITE, the surprise song that comes on is ALONE, the song from Jimin's solo album. Jimin ends up coming into the crowd and is standing next to me, and my ass accidentally ends up singing the song a bit early. Jimin whipped his head around to look at me and very loudly into the mic he shouted "그만해!" (quit it), and forced the DJ to restart the song. I actually speak a decent amount of Korean, I minor in it and have a certificate or two in it, so hearing him scold me in Korean wasn't too jarring... I guess.
  • Anyways, I was mortified. But at least I got to listen to Jimin and Jungkook sing ALONE together, as the other members decided to just dance alongside them instead of singing. But yeah, I never got to hear the second surprise song before waking up.

[Korean > English] Clarification on Sentence Context

Was watching this live and I was wondering if the blonde one responded to the other's statement as 나도 찾아봤거든요 나도 받을까해서, as in he also was researching the benefits of a baptismal name (but did not get baptized).

Listening is my weakest skill in Korean so I'm just wondering if he was actually baptized or not lmao

BTS/BT21 related stationary/stickers

Does anyone know a good source to find cute BTS/BT21 stickers that aren't stolen artwork or blatantly AI for a reasonable price? I'm trying to get some to decorate the cover of a song journal but everything official is kind of just overpriced or some of the stickers are of the boys from like agesss ago. I just want something modern, classy, or cute.

Your Recent Kpop Dreams/Nightmares?

It's been a long time since I last asked this, but once again I had another dream about a K-pop idol, so I'm curious to see if there have been any fun/terrifying updates in your own unconscious mind.

You can type your own while I messily explain mine.

Anyways, I had a dream about BlackPink's Lisa, and for context, I am not a BlackPink fan (not a hater either, I just don't listen/interact with their music) so I literally know nothing about this woman's character, okay. My mind just decided to make me dream of her.

But yeah, we both worked at a gas station. I don't know why, I've never worked at one irl so... interesting. From what I could gather, Lisa was kind of despised by our managers because she wasn't a very good worker, I guess. Was always on her phone or taking off work early without any notice... which like, whatever, I'm not someone who puts that much effort into my work either, especially for a minimum wage job.

Anyways, I guess she left her phone in the gas station bathroom and took off work again without telling anyone, and my managers and I were gossiping about her. And I was like:

Me: you know she doesn't even need this job

Manager: Wdym?

Me: she's literally a millionaire bruh

Manager: WDYM?? Since WHEN?

Me: SINCE LIKE A DECADE AGO BRUHH

yeah there was also a subplot about the phone eventually getting stolen and hacked but it's too lengthy to explain here. Anyways, idk why she decided to work at a gas station w/ me. ALSO WHY WAS I A SNITCH?? LIKE DAMN LEAVE HER ALONE

BTS late night playlist

I put together a playlist that I absolutely love playing in the evening, it really fits the late night vibes!

I'm someone who really cares about the order in which the songs are played, so it's recommended that if you do listen to this, that you stick to how I've laid it out. But hey, I can't control you, so you can do whatever you want to!

Solo songs are on this playlist as well, I know for some it seems silly that I included their names next to the song, but I have had some baby ARMY friends confuse solo songs with group songs.

  3. 28 (Yoongi)
  4. Paradise
  5. Who (Jimin)

Zelda BTS variants

Hi, no idea if this counts as "fanfiction" as it's just me drawing the boys as some character variants in one of my favorite video games, but I promise there's no shipping going on here! Jin speaking to Jungkook is like when the Great Fairies talk to the hero Link before offering help for health or armor upgrades.

if this gets taken down ig i'll understand.

I know Chimmy hates to see me coming...

I love BT21, those are my babies...

Also, there's other artwork I'd love to post on here but idk if it falls into the category of "fanfiction", as it's just me drawing the boys as Legend of Zelda character variants (no shipping or anything tho). idk, y'all let me know what u think.

I tried (almost) every ARIH ramen flavor

Some of you might've seen my other post about trying the soy sauce butter flavor, so this is the sequel to this post!

I took it upon myself to try the rest of the cup ramen flavors, which, if you need a refresher, are:

  • black pepper tteokbokki
  • gochujang butter
  • truffle bulgogi
  • vongole
  • spicy seaweed (and it's k-spice variants).

unfortunately I was unable to buy the spicy seaweed and any of its versions, so this review will be without it 😞 sorry about that.

Quick disclaimer though: I have a considerable spice tolerance, so any of the "spicy" flavors might not be as intense to me as someone who is not that great at handling their spice. Also, this review is subjective. I like what I like, and you'll like what you'll like.

In my previous post, I detailed a bit on the prep and the overall time it takes to cook it. I will say that I personally find cooking the noodles outside of the cup to be a lot better. Basically, I just eyeballed the water amount, cooked the noodles in small pot of boiling water for about 4-5 minutes, strained it somewhat thoroughly, and then poured it into a bowl where the sauce packet + powder mixture was already mixed. I felt like the sauce stuck a lot better and spread well across each noodle, and the overall dish was cooked far more evenly.

I'd say out of this bunch of noodles, black pepper tteokbokki takes the cake. It's sweet (but not overly so), the sauce is delicious and flavorful, and the spice is just the right amount-- not too mild like the soy sauce butter one, which to me, felt like it was just missing something. I can definitely see myself buying more of this flavor (which I did, and later adorned one of the meals with a nice, fried egg!), and I'd say it's worth the price.

The vongole style is definitely more catered to the western palate, as its flavor is a lot more mild, yet has a savory seafood flavor to it. Though, it's not overwhelmingly fishy, if you know what I mean. I liked it, thought it would be better with a light cheese on it... however, it's a pretty safe choice for those who aren't the biggest fan of the sweetness that often comes with Korean style sauces.

Gochujang butter... I'm not really sure what to say about this. If I'm being honest, it was pretty forgettable to me (like, I literally cannot remember how it tastes), and I'm a big fan of gochujang. I don't really recall much about it, and I think I was surprised that it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. I still feel like the black pepper tteokbokki flavor is a lot more interesting and stimulates my senses a bit better.

Okay, last but not... okay. It is the least, or at least it is on my list. The truffle bulgogi flavor was an interesting experience for me, to say the least. I love bulgogi; whenever I go to K-bbq, I fuck up a pretty big plate of that, so I was pretty excited to try this. However, whenever I ate the noodles, the sweet and savory meat flavoring was overshadowed by the truffle-- which at this point was a flavor I had only ever heard of and not tried. I think the truffle flavor was pretty jarring and had a bit of a bitter? sour? aftertaste that I can't quite explain. Some of my friends who have had truffle in the past also expressed that it's not their favorite either, so they were wary about buying it.

I think I'm part of that crowd that doesn't really like truffle, but that's just me.

Anyways, I hope I can try the seaweed flavor in the future, as I love seaweed! But yeah, this is just my review for now.

I was curious if anyone had any book recommendations that cover the joseon dynasty! It can be fiction or non-fiction, a novel or a textbook-- I really don't care. I'm a high B2 speaker of the Korean language so I can understand quite a bit, so if some resources are in Korean, I can try to comb through those as well. I'm always itching to add more stuff to my vocab sets, anyway.

hi, so I know basically nothing about competitive swimming but I was wanting to write a character who was on their university's swim team (it's more of a minor point, so I don't need to go into too much detail)... anyways I was hoping I could get some answers to my silly little questions here.

  • is swimming like most sports where if you have piercings they expect you to tape them up or take them out? I assume the headgear will cover the ears, but lets just say the character as a facial piercing or two (on the lip or nose), would they need to remove it before each meet/practice/competition?
  • what are the general seasons for college swimmers? what times do you guys usually meet up to practice, and how long are those sessions (I assume it's different for everyone, but I'm still curious).
  • please explain the categories of competitions (if it helps, the character is male) and whats kind of considered a reasonable/good score (idk about michael phelps level). you don't need to go too in depth, you can kind of explain it to me like I'm five.
  • any other prep outside of general swimming that you do to practice/refine your skills? like how some football players practice ballet on the side to help with balance?

if you have any other information that you think could be useful, I'd really appreciate it :o

thanks so much!

I lived in Arlington for about a year so I know the area pretty well, and I just wanted to let those who might be unfamiliar that there is a Six Flags about a 10-15 minute drive away from the stadium :)

There is also a parking garage (west hall park) at the local university (UTA, it's about 15 minutes from the venue as well) that has a pretty nice view of the AT&T stadium from it's top floor and would be perfect for shooting videos or dance TikToks in the meantime (if you're interested). You'd just have to be pretty quick going in and out of the garage (bc they are ticket happy over there) or you'd have to pay the daily pass (which I think is $10).

Don't risk getting towed, though.

Also another warning: Arlington is cop city. There are cops on every block.

Alright, I've caved to BTS capitalism and purchased four out of the six flavors for ARIH's cup noodle line (each one being $3 and something cents, I already forgot), and I decided that I'll share some of my thoughts here.

For context, I am a lover of Korean style ramen and I have a considerable spice tolerance, so if I try their "spicier" variants, I might be biased because it takes A LOT before I consider anything spicy.

But anyways. Tonight I tried the Soy Sauce Butter flavor, the prep and cook time took about 5-7 minutes, give or take. You can make it in the microwave or just boil some water and pour it into the cup (the latter of which I did). Pretty standard instant noodle stuff.

Anyways, after tasting it, my overall opinion is... it is exactly as advertised. Straight up. It’s a relatively simple flavor, perhaps on the blander side, but not necessarily in a bad way. It's sweet and mild, the sauce is a good consistency, not too thick or thin. It’s pretty decent but not sure I’d buy it regularly for its price point.

I suppose if you're looking for any other ramen brand to reference this off of, I think I can sort of draw a connection to the standard Indomie flavor, it's kind of like that but a lot more muted on the tongue. Just sweet with no kick. But take this with a grain of salt because I'd still say they're different enough that it feels a bit wrong comparing the two.

Well, that's my first review. Not sure if I'll be eating noodles for four days in a row to update my thoughts about the other flavors, but I am a college student so anything is possible.
